Gypsy Rose Blanchard is remembering Ken Urker through personal photos and videos, hours after news broke that the father of her daughter had died. In an Instagram tribute shared Friday morning, Blanchard included moments of the pair joking with a face filter, embracing and spending time with their daughter, Aurora. Another clip showed Urker singing in the car. “You will always be my greatest love story. You will be remembered and loved forever,” she captioned the post. Urker died on October 1, his 34th birthday. Authorities are continuing to investigate his death.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard Opens Her Tribute With A Smiling Photo Of Ken
The first slide features Urker smiling while seated at a table, wearing a white T-shirt, black sunglasses, and a cross necklace. His hands are clasped in front of him, with menus spread across the tabletop. Blanchard followed the photograph with several personal videos, sharing glimpses of their time together before his death.
The tribute arrived Friday morning, after she spoke to PEOPLE about losing Urker. In those earlier remarks, she described him as a devoted father and discussed the online scrutiny she believed had affected him.
A Funny Filter Video Shows The Pair Side By Side
The second slide features Blanchard and Urker sitting close together while using a filter that exaggerates their eyes and stretches their mouths into oversized smiles.
The clip is followed by another filtered video, this time featuring Aurora. Their daughter appears close to the camera in a blue shirt, with digital animal ears, whiskers, and a nose added to her face. Blanchard sits behind her, smiling with the same filter.
Aurora was born in December 2024, after Blanchard and Urker rekindled their relationship earlier that year. The mother-daughter video is among several family moments Blanchard chose to include alongside recordings of Urker.
Ken Urker Was Found Unresponsive On His 34th Birthday
Blanchard sent Urker a birthday message on October 1 but did not receive a response. Her brother, Dylan, and his wife later arrived at the Louisiana home and found him unresponsive. A source close to the family confirmed his death to the outlet.
The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that deputies responded to a Raceland residence that evening and found Urker dead. Authorities said the investigation remained ongoing.
Blanchard has attributed his death to an overdose, but that is her account. The authorities’ statement cited above did not establish an official cause or manner of death.
Blanchard And Urker First Connected While She Was In Prison
Blanchard and Urker first connected in 2017 while she was incarcerated, after he watched a documentary about her life and began writing to her. Their correspondence developed into a relationship, and Urker proposed in 2018. They later separated, and Blanchard married Ryan Anderson while still in prison. Following her December 2023 release, she announced her separation from Anderson in March 2024.
Blanchard and Urker reunited the following month, spending a weekend together before meeting up again for a jazz festival. They welcomed their daughter, Aurora Raina Urker, in December 2024.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard Called Ken Urker Her ‘Forever’ And Opened Up About Couples Therapy

In a March 2025 interview with PEOPLE, Blanchard said she saw Urker as her “forever” and discussed their decision to attend couples therapy. She explained that they wanted an outside perspective on their relationship rather than relying only on relatives when problems arose.
“I like it because it gives an unbiased opinion,” she said at the time. “Because you don’t want to go to your family all the time to talk about the bad stuff. You never want to have anybody going, ‘Oh, I think…’ You don’t want their opinions to be changed or affected or a bias or anything.”
“So it’s nice for us to have someone in the middle,” she continued. “They can see my side, they can see his side and give us an honest opinion about where we should go and how we could improve.”
