Re: “Shifting Medicaid costs to WA will be more expensive for all of us” (Oct. 16, Opinion):

Op-Ed author Blake Edwards lays out an excellent plan for the state to respond to Medicaid costs shifting to the state. Keeping care in the local clinics will be so much more cost effective that a shift to emergency rooms.

These health care issues are exactly why the government is shut down, one side demanding solutions to the coming health care tragedy caused by the other side’s passing of the Big (but not) Beautiful Bill. We can do our part by encouraging those who represent us in Congress to keep fighting to protect our health care, and battle the coming hunger crisis and more caused by that misnamed legislation.

    Willie Dickerson, Snohomish
