Hilary Duff Sends Cryptic Message To ‘Jealous’ Sister Haylie

The mom group drama rages on, with Hilary Duff taking a swipe at her sister, Haylie Duff.

The “Lizzie McGuire” star has seemingly addressed the fact that her sister blatantly sided with Ashley Tisdale amid their widely publicized feud, which has gotten all but messy.

The drama stemmed from a rather revealing essay Tisdale wrote about walking away from a mom group seemingly comprised of Hilary, Mandy Moore, and other members, after feeling rejected by them.

Hilary hit the stage on Monday at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire for a performance. Her song list for the appearance featured old and new songs, including a moving track titled “We Don’t Talk.”

The track, which appeared to sample the hit song “Somebody That I Used To Know,” featured the singer belting emotional lyrics that suggested a heartbreaking end to a broken relationship.

“Don’t know when it happened / Not even sure what it was about,” alluding to a fractured relationship.’Cause we come from the same home, same blood,” she sang.

“People ask me how you’re doing / I wanna say amazing, but the truth is that I don’t know / What I always end up saying is how … We don’t talk, we don’t talk about it / We don’t talk about anything anymore,” she continued, as reported by US Weekly.

The lyrics “And if it’s ’cause you’re jealous / God knows I would sell it all, then break you off the bigger half,” seemed to address a longstanding rivalry that left the singer feeling emotional as she sang.

Fans couldn’t help but notice how the lyrics seemed to further highlight the strained relationship between her and her sister, Haylie Duff.

“With a sample of ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’, Hilary Duff performed ‘We Don’t Talk’ — a new song from her upcoming album about her sister Haylie. You can tell she gets emotional at the end of the song,” another user wrote.

Haylie Duff Seemingly Sides Against Her Sister Amid Messy Mom Group Drama

Hilary’s heartfelt performance was delivered after her sister, Haylie, seemed to side with Tisdale amid the ongoing mom group drama.

According to The Blast, Haylie supported Tisdale by liking a post she shared with The Cut, announcing the release of the essay in which she spoke about cutting Hilary and other members of the group off.

The post’s caption read, “LEAVE YOUR TOXIC FRIENDS BEHIND YOU IN 2026, says @ashleytisdalefrench,” and Haylie’s acknowledgment of the post seemed to be a sign of support for Tisdale and not her sister, Hilary.

Haylie was not the only family member to get involved in the messy feud. Hilary’s husband, Mathew Koma, responded to Tisdale’s essay by sharing a photo mocking her.

The picture was an image of his head photoshopped onto Tisdale’s body, and in the caption, he didn’t hold back.

“When You’re The Most Self-Obsessed Tone Deaf Person On Earth, Other Moms Tend To Shift Focus To Their Actual Toddlers,” it read, per The Blast.

The image drew backlash from fans on social media, who thought it was an unnecessary reaction from Koma. Some slammed him for being “pretentious,” and others called him a “weird dude.”

Although Koma wasted no time in expressing how he felt about Tisdale’s essay, Hilary, on the other hand, has yet to publicly acknowledge the feud.

However, reports claim that she felt “unfairly portrayed” in her former friend’s essay, as did Moore.

According to The Blast, Moore and Hilary didn’t approve of the way Tisdale handled the feud, and they couldn’t help but feel “blindsided” and “hurt” by how the whole situation was blown out of proportion.

Despite the accusations that they were being “mean” to Tisdale, Moore, and Hilary reportedly insisted that there was no “mean-girl behavior” from their end.

Mom group drama aside, Hilary has been focused on making her return to music worth remembering.

In early November 2025, she shared the cover art for her latest single, writing, “So happy this is finally yours to hear. Been keeping this one quiet too long,” per The Blast.

Fans were ecstatic to hear the news. One wrote, “10 years in the making!! This feels so monumental as a long-time fan who at one point came to terms with her musical retirement. So needless to say, I’m definitely future trippin’ in the best way about this new era,” and another excitedly called her return a “POP EMERGENCY.”
