Hornets’ Knueppel makes NBA history in blowout loss to Heat

The future of the Charlotte Hornets is looking brighter with each and every passing game. That continued Tuesday night when rookie shooting guard Kon Knueppel made NBA history in Charlotte’s 144-117 loss to the Miami Heat.

    Knueppel makes NBA history

According to a post on X from Hornets PR, with his five made three-pointers in Tuesday’s game, Knueppel has the most made three-pointers through four games in NBA history.

Additionally, Knueppel is just the second player ever to make at least three-plus three-pointers in each of his first four career games.

    Charlotte’s success from deep

Charlotte shot just 39.1% from deep Tuesday, marking its worse performance so far this season. Prior to that, the Hornets entered Tuesday fourth in the NBA at 41.4% from three-point range this season.

Knueppel has been at the forefront of that, as he entered Tuesday shooting a phenomenal 57.9% from long range on the season. It’s been an extremely encouraging start for the No. 4 overall pick out of Duke.

    Can he keep it up?

Knueppel’s spot in NBA history is nice and all, but it’ll be crucial to see if he can continue his hot shooting. His next game will be against the Orlando Magic, a team that is allowing 119.5 points per game.

Continued success from Knueppel and Charlotte from three-point range could have it in position to sneak into the playoffs for the first time in three seasons.
