The New York Knicks successfully swept the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals in Game 4 on Monday, with a final score of 130-93, cementing Jalen Brunson and the team in NBA history.

Now, the Knicks are in the NBA Finals for the first time in 27 years. They’re one of three teams remaining in the hunt for the Larry O’Brien Trophy, and they’ve come out victorious in 11 consecutive playoff games by double-digit margins.

For the Knicks, Karl-Anthony Towns had 19 points and 14 rebounds, OG Anunoby clocked 17, Landry Shamet scored 16 off the bench and Mikal Bridges and Jalen Brunson had 15 each.

Jalen Brunson wins Eastern Conference Finals MVP in emotional moment

After the game, Brunson was unanimously voted the Eastern Conference Finals MVP. He’s been a leader this entire series and playoff run and helped create a huge comeback in the fourth quarter of Game 1 against the Cavs.

Walt Frazier and Patrick Ewing presented the Eastern Conference Finals MVP trophy to Brunson, which made for an emotional moment.

Brunson is the only player in franchise history to win the award.

Now, New York waits to see who they’ll play next. The Knicks will take on the Oklahoma City Thunder or San Antonio Spurs in the Finals, and both teams look strong. The Western Conference Finals are currently tied at 2-2, with Game 5 to be played in Oklahoma City on Tuesday and Game 6 set for Thursday.

When the Knicks take on the Thunder or Spurs, either Oklahoma City or San Antonio will have home-court advantage, because they have a better regular-season record. Game 1 will take place on June 3.
