Jennifer Lawrence is thrilled to announce that she is expecting her second child, a joyful development following a heartbreaking miscarriage before the birth of her first son in February 2022.

The Oscar-winning actress, who has been open about her journey to motherhood, expressed her excitement for this new chapter in her life, celebrating the prospect of expanding her family.

Her representative has confirmed the news after a recent photo surfaced, showing Jennifer Lawrence with a noticeable baby bump.

Lawrence is expecting her second child, as confirmed by her representative to Vogue.

The actress was spotted last night in Los Angeles enjoying dinner while wearing a La Ligne t-shirt and sweater that subtly showcased her baby bump. Lawrence and her husband, art gallerist Cooke Maroney, are already parents to their two-year-old son, Cy.

The couple tied the knot in October 2019 at the picturesque Belcourt Mansion in Newport, Rhode Island.

The announcement of Lawrence’s pregnancy comes amid a whirlwind period in her career.

On October 25, “Zurawski v Texas,” a documentary exploring the effects of stringent anti-abortion laws in Texas—executive produced by Lawrence and Hillary Clinton—will premiere in major cities including New York, Los Angeles, Austin, and San Antonio.

Director Maisie Crow emphasized the importance of screening the film in traditional markets as well as Texas, stating, “We felt it was critical to not only theatrically release the film in traditional markets like New York and Los Angeles, but make it available during that window in locations across Texas to ensure Texans understand what these abortion bans mean in practice.”

In the coming weeks, free screenings will also be held in cities where abortion measures are on the state ballot this Election Day, including Charlotte and Phoenix.

In the landmark case Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court ruled that the right to privacy, as implied by the 14th Amendment, encompasses a woman’s right to choose to have an abortion, designating it as a fundamental right.

Last year, Lawrence opened up about her miscarriage, which she suffered in her early 20s, and how she feels about Roe v. Wade, especially since she intended to get an abortion before suffering the miscarriage “alone in Montreal.”

Jennifer Lawrence experienced another pregnancy a couple of years ago while filming “Don’t Look Up.” At that point, she was married and eager to start a family.

Tragically, she suffered a second miscarriage and underwent a dilation and curettage (D&C) procedure, a surgical method to remove tissue from the uterus. The thought of young people facing limited options regarding their futures weighed heavily on her, especially now that she is a mother.

“I remember a million times thinking about it while I was pregnant. Thinking about the things that were happening to my body. And I had a great pregnancy. I had a very fortunate pregnancy,” she said in an interview last yet. “But every single second of my life was different. And it would occur to me sometimes: What if I was forced to do this?”

Lawrence also questioned how anyone could have children and not support restricting access to guns.

“I’m raising a little boy who is going to go to school one day. Guns are the number-one cause of death for children in the United States. And people are still voting for politicians who receive money from the NRA,” she told Vogue last year. “It blows my mind. I mean if Sandy Hook didn’t change anything?”

“We as a nation just went, Okay! We are allowing our children to lay down their lives for our right to a second amendment that was written over 200 years ago,” she continued.

In September 2022, Lawrence confirmed that she welcomed a baby boy named Cy Maroney in February.  “It’s so scary to talk about motherhood,” she said, per People. “Because it’s so different for everybody. If I say, ‘It was amazing from the start,’ some people will think, ‘It wasn’t amazing for me at first,’ and feel bad.”

She shared that his name was inspired by the American painter Cy Twombly, one of her husband’s favorite artists.
