Jennifer Lopez Allegedly Felt ‘Threatened’ By Ben Affleck’s Ex-Wife

The singer reportedly detested the closeness between the former couple, who got married in 2005 and welcomed three children together before announcing their split in 2015.

Amid her divorce from Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez posted a new video on her Instagram page flaunting her bikini body as if to show her ex what he’s missing.

New revelations about Lopez and Affleck’s broken marriage have surfaced, and it turns out that a familiar third party unknowingly contributed to the breakdown.

According to OK! Magazine, a source revealed that there was tension between Lopez and Affleck’s ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, as the singer “felt threatened” by her all through her marriage with the “Argo” actor.

“J.Lo felt threatened by Jen Garner for almost all of her marriage,” the insider alleged. “The way Ben would run to her for advice any time they had a fight drove her crazy.”

Evidently, Affleck and Garner maintained a cordial relationship even after finalizing their divorce in 2018. They have been seen on multiple occasions in the company of their three children, Violet, Fin, and Samuel.

The insider went on to tell the news outlet that Affleck likes “spending time with Jen and their kids” as it is “much more comfortable than trying to do the blended family thing.”

“He’s so at ease with her, there’s no tension, no pressure, he can totally be himself,” the source added.

Apparently, Lopez’s alleged concerns played out before she filed for divorce from Affleck. At the time when they were having issues, Affleck left their Beverly Hills marital home and moved into a $100k-a-month Brentwood rental home close to Garner.

In August, Affleck and Garner were seen escorting their daughter, Violet, to her first year at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.

They were also seen serving food at the Midnight Mission in L.A., California, on Thanksgiving Day and reportedly also spent Christmas together.

“Jen and Ben were all together for Christmas. It’s all for the kids,” a source told People Magazine. “Jen grew up surrounded by her family for the holidays, and she wants the same for her kids.”

Meanwhile, Garner is reportedly happy Affleck is moving on from Lopez and is said to have expressed her decision to stop communication with Lopez.

“Jen no longer wishes to have communication with J.Lo unless it has to do with the kids,” an insider told Daily Mail.

“Her friends feel she shouldn’t have allowed herself to get so involved in helping J.Lo fix her marriage to Ben. Especially considering Jen felt pitted against J.Lo at times during their own marriage. Jen is too nice and truly wanted to help, so she tried,” the source explained.

Another source told Star that Affleck has made advances in his effort to move on from the “Let’s Get Loud” singer and is trying to be present for his children with Garner.

“Now that Ben’s getting back to his old routine, he’s feeling good about himself,” the insider told the news outlet. “Spending time with Jen Garner and the kids over the holidays has helped him to feel that everything’s all right in his world again.”

Although they’ve parted ways, Lopez and Affleck have chosen to maintain a cordial relationship for the sake of their children.

The exes reunited over Christmas at the members-only Soho House in West Hollywood, where they had lunch together and even exchanged gifts.

A source told Page Six that they “have every intention of continuing to be in each other’s lives despite not being romantically involved.”

The insider added, “Ben and Jennifer are still connected and they do communicate when it involves their kids.”

The “Atlas” actress rang in the New Year in Aspen, Colorado, with her mother Guadalupe, sister Lynda, manager Benny Medina, her children Emme and Max, and other music producers and stylists.

In a recent Instagram post from the snowy getaway, she made sure to show Affleck what he was missing by flaunting her figure in a black string bikini with gold accents.

The video also featured other moments from her icy getaway, including her decorating a Christmas tree, dancing with pals in what seems to be a bar, and riding a sleigh with her friend.

“We’ll be back, Aspen,” Lopez wrote in the caption of the Instagram post.
