Jennifer Lopez Reportedly Wants To ‘Try Something New’ After Ben Affleck Split

Jennifer Lopez has been through her fair share of breakups and divorces, but it seems she has finally found the secret to moving on.

A source claims the singer is looking to “try something new” after her split from actor Ben Affleck by focusing on herself and her career first.

The insider weighed in on recent reports that Jennifer Lopez wants to start dating again, noting that she is not interested in a “temporary rebound.”

Lopez has reportedly adopted a new strategy to help her heal and become stronger following her split from Affleck.

According to the Daily Mail, Lopez plans to focus on herself and her career and doesn’t want to jump right back into the dating scene months after filing for a divorce from the “Argo” actor.

The “Let’s Get Loud” singer famously doesn’t stay single for long after each of her past relationships and marriages ended, but a source told the news outlet that she’s now looking to “try something new” to see if this works out better.

“Jen, like most people, would love to have love in her life again,” a source shared. “But the one person she has to give time to right now is herself. If something presents itself, then obviously life and love will find a way, but she isn’t looking to get into any new relationships.”

They continued, “She is focused on her work and wants 2025 to be the year she gets back to being herself. She isn’t actively looking to date right now and is still processing losing Ben again.”

“She likes being in a relationship almost immediately after one ends, but right now, she is trying something new and seeing if that works out for her better,” the insider added.

A source recently told In Touch that the “Hustlers” actress was “on the prowl again,” looking for a suitable partner.

“Obviously, she’s showing Ben what he’s missing,” the source said. “She’s not looking for a serious relationship – for now – but she is looking to have some fun. She’s on the prowl again.”

However, the source who spoke to the Daily Mail addressed the reports, saying the “Ain’t Your Mama” singer isn’t looking to latch onto a “rebound.”

“She doesn’t want to get into anything that would be a temporary rebound,” they said.

Lopez and Affleck rekindled their romance not long after she split from former basketball star Alex Rodriguez in 2021.

The former couple had earlier dated in the early 2000s and even got engaged to be married, but were forced to call it quits as their relationship was subject to public scrutiny.

She recently sat down with Nikki Glaser for an Interview Magazine chat, where she was asked if she had any regrets after her split from the “Accountant 2” actor.

“Not one second,” Lopez stated. “That doesn’t mean it didn’t almost take me out for good. It almost did. But now, on the other side of it, I think to myself, ‘F-ck, that is exactly what I needed. Thank you, God. I’m sorry it took me so long. I’m sorry that you had to do this to me so many times.”

Lopez also spoke on how she’s been handling this new phase of her life, especially as it relates to her relationship and career.

“I think my whole life I’ve just been trying to say I’m good enough, until where I am now, when I know,” she said. “I’m giving myself credit. I’m telling that little girl that grew up in the Bronx, ‘You’ve done really good for yourself.’ I didn’t do that for so many years.”

“And now I think, with everything that’s happened in my life and in my relationships and even in my career, it’s like, give yourself a bit of comfort and love,” she added.

Even though Lopez is going through a divorce with Affleck, she still has a good relationship with the actor’s kids.

Ahead of the holidays, insiders have shared that she wants her kids and Affleck’s children to feel loved and supported and is keen on having the blended family celebrate together.

“She’s been showing up at the same events as him and demanding they continue doing group activities with the kids, and if he doesn’t agree, then he’s the bad guy,” the insiders claimed, per Heat World UK.

“Now, she’s pushing for them to do joint celebrations for Thanksgiving and Christmas, saying it’s for the children, but Ben isn’t buying it’s just about them,” they added.

Lopez shares twins Max and Emme with her former husband, Marc Anthony, while Affleck shares Violet, Fin, and Samuel with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.
