Jennifer Lopez’s Ex-Husband Blames Diddy For Their Short-lived Marriage

Noa previously revealed that his ex-wife’s love for media attention also played a part in the end of their short-lived marriage.

Jennifer Lopez and Ojani Noa were married for barely a year and quickly moved on to other people following their separation.

In an interview with Despierta America, Noa discussed his brief marriage to Lopez, whom he married while she was still a rising star.

According to Page Six, he mentioned that “part of that divorce” was the embattled rapper’s “fault,” seemingly suggesting that Diddy stole Lopez’s attention away when they collaborated on her first album.

The actor said to the outlet, “When Sony came and paid her the millions she got, there was Puffy [Combs], who was going to be one of the producers of several tracks on the first album, On The 6.”

He added, “I was in Los Angeles opening my restaurant, and she was between Miami and New York working on the album.”

While it is unclear if Lopez cheated on Noa with Diddy at any point during their marriage, she began a relationship with the rapper in 1999. The duo eventually split for good in 2001.

Last month, Noa also claimed that Lopez’s craze for being in the spotlight also played a part in their split.

At the time, he shared that their marriage became very strained after the actress’ “Selena” movie became a success.

“I felt she was 1729773935 really ­enjoying the media attention,” he told the Daily Mail. “I would say to her: ‘You have to be private. You can’t be real in a relationship if you’re always being photographed.”‘

As their disagreements continued to increase after the film’s success, Noa said he tried to act like things were okay whenever they stepped out in public together.

He added, “I can tell you in my own ­experience, we would have ­disagreements in the car and then 20 minutes later, we’d have to sit and pretend everything was fine.”

However, it all became unbearable at some point, and they separated in 1998, barely a year after getting married.

Following Lopez’s split from Noa, she not only dated Diddy but also had relationships with several other men over the years.

Her most recent relationship with Ben Affleck led to the duo finally walking down the aisle after a first failed engagement attempt years back. However, with the marriage now hitting the rocks, Noa advised his ex-wife to take some time off the dating scene.

“Stay single for a while, take 12 months off,” the 50-year-old said of Lopez in the interview with the outlet. “If she meets someone new, maybe keep it private and not get ­married again.”

He also seemingly urged the mother of two to tone down her alleged love for media attention if she wants her next relationship to succeed.

“When you’re with someone, you have to spend quality time with them and not think about being on camera,” Noa added. “I would just say to Jen: you need to be yourself so you can find yourself.”

While the fallout of Noa and Lopez’s marriage led to the former filing a series of lawsuits, the singer and Affleck have chosen to mediate their split.

Reports have mentioned that the duo has been working with a famous dissolution lawyer on how to split their numerous assets.

Additionally, they have remained amicable, having been spotted in the company of each other on more than one occasion since the news of their divorce made headlines.

It is unclear how long it would take before Lopez and Affleck finalize their divorce, but it is believed their choice of mediation will help speed up the process. The duo did not welcome any child during the marriage, which removes any issues over custody arrangements that might have risen up.

While the reason behind her split from Affleck remains unclear, Lopez got candid about the effect of their split on her during a chat with Interview Magazine.

According to the “Monster-in-Law” star, while she does not regret taking the decision, the “pain” of the aftermath almost took her “out for good.”

However, Lopez now views it as the catalyst she needed to steer her life in the direction it was meant to follow.

She shared, “Now, on the other side of it, I think to myself, ‘F-ck, that is exactly what I needed. Thank you, god. I’m sorry it took me so long. I’m sorry that you had to do this to me so many times. I should have learned it two or three times ago. I get it. You had to hit me really hard over the head with a f-cking sledgehammer. You dropped the house on me. Don’t have to do it again.'”
