Jonathan Majors might return to the Marvel Universe as Kang two years after he was dropped by the company.

The actor was fired from the role after he was found guilty of two misdemeanor charges in 2023.

Meanwhile, despite heightened enthusiasm from most fans about the news, others believe returning as Kang might not be the right move for the actor.

After what seemed like the end of his superhero career, Majors might be getting a second chance at playing “Kang the Conqueror” by Marvel.

According to Screengeek, Marvel Studios CEO Kevin Feige is considering bringing Majors back into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Feige wants the actor to return and appear in future Marvel movies as Kang. Majors will be expected to help close some loops and end Kang’s story arc within the MCU.

Up until December 18, 2023, Majors was being set up to become the next big villain in the Marvel Universe. The actor had embodied Kang in several lead-up movies, including the 2021 Disney+ series “Loki,” “Loki” season 2, and the 2023 movie “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.”

However, an altercation with his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari in March 2023 led to a trial where Majors was found guilty of two misdemeanor charges. Marvel subsequently dropped the actor.

The news of Majors’ potential return to the MCU has been wholesomely received by fans who believe the actor deserves his role back and possibly an even bigger paycheck.

“I had a feeling this would happen after a reasonable cooling-off period. Charge them triple what your original fee was, King,” one X user commented.

Another fan opined, “I called this. The man became a villain in real-time. Art imitates life. His villain arc is going to terrify people. Put the brother back on so he can earn some bread.”

Former UFC Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya also backed the actor, quoting a tweet teasing his return with, “Yes, all he did was protect himself. He should, and he should also play @francis_ngannou in his biopic!”

Some Fans Want Majors As Black Panther, Not Kang

Another section of Marvel fans thinks Majors should return as Black Panther since the role has been vacant since Chadwick Boseman’s death.

A fan on X posted a picture of Majors in a Black Panther costume with the caption, “I’ll leave this here.. I mean, they are looking to recast the Black Panther role.”

The post quickly garnered many positive reactions from other X users, with comments like, “I think this would be an interesting idea that could work out.”

Another user wrote, “I actually would love this. Incredible talent.”

Meanwhile, one user suggested a dramatic angle to Majors potentially playing Black Panther, noting, “Making T’challa a Kang variant would go kinda crazy.”

Still, despite the enthusiasm, Marvel Studios executives have dismissed the idea of recasting Chadwick Boseman “for now.”

VP of Production and Development Nate Moore declared, “The truth is, there’s no truth to those rumors. Never say never to anything; we haven’t really had a lot of creative conversations with [writer and director] Ryan Coogler yet because he’s finishing his film Sinners, which comes out this year,” per ComicBook.

Jonathan Major’s ‘Magazine Dreams’ Set For Theatrical Release

Two years after Majors’ “Magazine Dreams” was shown at the Sundance Film Festival, the movie will finally be released on the big screen on March 21, 2025.

Searchlight Pictures had already won the bidding for the movie before dropping it after Majors’ assault and harassment charges, per The Hollywood Reporter.

The film’s trailer was released earlier this week to much acclaim from fans who praised Majors’ acting in the teaser.

“Magazine Dreams” follows the struggles of an amateur bodybuilder “who struggles to find human connection,” per IMDb.

The movie will be Major’s first since he played Damian Anderson in “Creed III,” released in March 2023.
