Kamala Harris’s campaign has experienced a notable shift in the electoral landscape according to numerous polls. That reality seems to have hit home with recent data from NBC News.
Harris previously enjoyed a 5-point lead over her opponent, Donald Trump, in that particular poll – a figure that seemed to bode well for the Democratic ticket.
However, that lead has now vanished according to NBC national political correspondent Steve Kornacki, painting a starkly different picture of the election with just 21 days left before Election Day.
“I mean, the top line is the 5-point advantage that Kamala Harris had in our last poll is gone,” NBC Today host Savannah Guthrie said in a segment with Kornacki. “What’s behind that shift?”
He explained that Trump had jumped four points while Harris had dropped one point during her current friendly media blitz. The two now sit at 48% even.
Kamala Harris Sinking In The Polls
Kornacki’a analysis seems to suggest the more the public sees of Kamala Harris, the worse she does in the polls.
It’s no wonder the campaign has tried desperately to keep her out of the public eye. And why her friendly media tour – including appearances with her cackling creepily and sharing beers with Stephen Colbert during devastating natural disasters, chatting it up with the ladies of The View, and joining a sex podcast called “Call Her Daddy” – is backfiring.
She’s unlikable and has an authenticity problem across all demographics. NBC’s numbers are bearing that out. Trump is Trump, and his numbers remain the same essentially. But Kamala – Kamala has a problem.
“But look at Harris, 43 positive, 49 negative. The significance, we polled this a month ago. She was 48% positive and 45 negative. She was above water, as they say. That’s completely reversed. It now looks very similar to Trump’s,” Kornacki said.
“That’s a pretty big shift when you’re talking about a race this close.”
Can you imagine the dismay over at Harris headquarters knowing that the campaign running on “joy” and “vibes” is equally despised as the man they’ve portrayed as the end of democracy?
The media and the Democrats have tried forcing Harris upon their own party first, and then the American people in general. And they are rejecting her.

Desperation Is Creeping In
Aside from the public polls, Kamala Harris and her team must be seeing atrocious numbers with their own internal polling.
How else to explain a sudden desire to appear for an interview on Fox News or a rumored showing with popular podcast host Joe Rogan?
Kornacki proceeded to take a closer look at the numbers and, as expected, it’s about the economy, stupid. It seems voters are not buying Harris’s promises of an “opportunity economy”, especially when they had true joy under Trump’s reality economy.
“And then here’s the interesting twist. We also asked folks, ‘Think back to when Donald Trump was president. Did his policies help or hurt your family?’ And look at the difference, 44% helping, 31 hurting,” he said.
“Trump’s — the retrospective, you would say, opinion of Trump’s presidency among voters, arguably higher now than when he was president.”
Coinciding with the poll numbers, surrogates of Kamala Harris have been panicking like rats fleeing a sinking ship.
Democrat strategist James Carville said he is “scared to death” of the coming election and begged the Vice President to come up with some sort of messaging.
