Kate Winslet Breaks Silence On Her Early Intimacy

Kate Winslet is revealing a part of her sexual experience that the world never knew about.

The actress opened up, sharing a peek into her early intimacy adventures as a young adult. She disclosed how those experiences helped her grow in the industry.

Popularly known for her character Rose in “Titanic,” Kate Winslet has previously spoken up about the challenges she faced as a result of being famous. Specially citing her struggles with body weight and image.

Winslet disclosed some of her early intimacy experiences, and, once again, expectations were way off reality. The actress shared that some of these experiences were with women.

She revealed this while reflecting on her breakout performance in Heavenly Creatures, which aired in 1994. The storyline focuses on two teenage girls whose intense friendship spirals into a dangerously obsessive bond.

When asked on the Team Deakins podcast how much of herself she brought to the role, she responded, “I’ll share something I’ve never shared before. Some of my first intimate experiences as a young teen were actually with girls.”

She added that she had kissed both boys and girls, and those experiences helped her dig deep into her emotions in the film. While she has never been romantically linked to a woman, she recently played a role in the movie “Ammonite,” which features lesbian love and romance.

Still speaking about her first significant film role, Winslet went on to explain more about her experiences and her beginning career.

“‘At that stage in my life, I certainly was curious,” she shared, adding that she understood the really intense connection between the two characters played by herself and Melanie Lynskey.

She easily related to her character, acknowledging that deep bonds can form during adolescence, when people are vulnerable and insecure. However, Winslet admitted that she had some challenges grasping the darker psychological elements of the story at such a young age.

Last year, Winslet opened up on how undergoing testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) has helped boost her libido.

Winslet, who has been married to Edward Abel Smith since 2012, shared how the treatments have helped give her a boost. She further advised women to check their hormone levels upon noticing a dip in libido.

The Blast shared that while speaking on the “How To Fail” podcast, the actress cleared the fallacy that testosterone therapy is meant for men. She stated that women also have testosterone in their bodies, which needs to be replaced when exhausted.

The iconic “Titanic” star previously spoke about the struggles of fame and being part of such a popular global movie. Her private life also suffered as paparazzi easily surrounded her at all times.

She also faced criticism for her body weight from the public and within the industry. “When I was younger, my agent would get calls saying, ‘How’s her weight?'” She cited before revealing that in her younger days, she was nicknamed “blubber.”

As reported by The Blast previously, Winslet disclosed that she was advised even to take on “fat girl” roles. Ultimately, she had to become stoic, build her confidence, and learn to love her body.
