Beyoncé‘s mom, Tina Knowles, experienced a fashion mishap during her book tour on May 2, but had actress and comedian Keke Palmer to thank for calming the situation.

Knowles is currently on a book tour for her memoir, “Matriarch,” and stopped in Los Angeles last Friday.

However, she experienced what could have been an embarrassing moment, but handled it like a queen, with some help from Palmer.

Tina Knowles’ Wardrobe Slip Sparks Laughter At Book Tour Event

While celebrating the success of her No. 1 book at the Wiltern alongside Jennifer Hudson and Palmer, who served as the event’s moderator, Knowles had a wardrobe malfunction.

A TikTok video shared by a fan showed the 71-year-old businesswoman struggling to keep her silver strapless gown in place.

Palmer, dressed in a chic denim outfit, quickly stepped in to help, asking, “Is this it?” before another woman joined them on stage to assist.

Palmer’s quick thinking and humor turned the moment into a highlight.

“They were acting like it was a whole murder show,” she joked, referencing the reaction from event staff.

“I thought it was serious. I saw the teleprompter [start] typing, ‘We need something.’ The hell do y’all mean? They went in for no reason.”

Palmer and Tina Knowles continued their conversation once the mishap was resolved, with the former joking, “Glad that’s over. They were gonna give me a heart attack. Whew! So back to the book.”

The proud mom of Beyoncé and Solange is currently traveling across cities to promote her new memoir, which, according to the book’s official summary, reflects on her early life and journey as a successful entrepreneur.

The memoir also highlights her role in mentoring her daughter Beyoncé, 43, alongside Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, as they navigated their way to international fame as Destiny’s Child.

The tour began on April 30 in Washington, D.C., with former First Lady Michelle Obama appearing as a guest.

Knowles will continue the tour in Houston, Texas, where Rowland, 44, will lead a panel discussion. The final stop is scheduled for June 4 in London.

    Knowles Reveals Breast Cancer Diagnosis

Knowles’s wardrobe malfunction comes two weeks after she revealed her breast cancer diagnosis.

The matriarch spoke out for the first time about a personal health crisis she faced, one she now hopes will empower other women to take their health seriously.

She made the revelation during an appearance on CBS Mornings in April. She shared that she was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer and that the diagnosis came after she missed a routine mammogram during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I’ve always tried to take care of myself. I just … was in disbelief,” Tina told Gayle King during the emotional interview. She explained that she had forgotten to reschedule the screening that had been canceled due to the pandemic.

When she finally went in for her mammogram, doctors found two tumors in her left breast, one benign, the other malignant.

In August 2024, Knowles underwent a lumpectomy to remove the cancerous tumor and is now officially cancer-free.

“I was nervous,” she said about heading into surgery, but added, “My girls became my team,” referring to her daughters Beyoncé and Solange, who supported her every step of the way.

While promoting her memoir “Matriarch,” Knowles revealed to PEOPLE Magazine that she almost didn’t include the cancer chapter in her book.

“I struggled with whether I would share that journey [in the book] because I’m very private. But I decided to share it because I think it’s a lot of lessons in it for other women,” she said. “And I think as women, sometimes we get so busy and we get so wrapped up and running around, but you must go get your test. Because if I had not gotten my test early, I mean, I shudder to think what could have happened to me.”

She also spoke about how her daughters and extended family helped her stay strong during the ordeal. Beyoncé “took it well, staying positive,” while Solange reassured her with the words, “Mom, we are going to take care of this.”

Meanwhile, Kelly Rowland, whom Knowles calls her “bonus daughter,” and niece Angie Beyince were also there to offer strength and support.

Knowles said she now feels healthier and more energized than ever. Despite everything she went through, she’s still embracing her signature flair. “I want to show people you can go through that and still be fly,” she said with a smile.
