Kelly Clarkson left fans stunned and heartbroken after canceling the opening two nights of her highly anticipated Las Vegas residency, “Studio Sessions,” just minutes before showtime.
The 43-year-old Grammy winner took to Instagram roughly 90 minutes ahead of Friday night’s performance to deliver the news, saying she was “devastated” to postpone after weeks of grueling rehearsals.
Kelly Clarkson explained that the intense preparation had taken a toll on her voice, and she needed to rest in order to avoid “doing serious damage.”

“I am beyond grateful that you always show up for me, and I am devastated to have to postpone tonight and tomorrow’s opening at Caesars.”
The “Since U Been Gone” singer admitted that both the prep and rehearsals had worn down her vocals, and emphasized that her priority was to deliver a performance worthy of her fans.
“I need to protect myself from doing serious damage, so I am taking this weekend and next week to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve,” she added.

“The show is truly incredible,” she continued. “The musicians and singers are outstanding, and I want us all to start out strong. I can’t wait to be back next weekend and show y’all what we’ve been working on.”

Ironically, just hours before the cancellation, Clarkson had posted behind-the-scenes photos from rehearsals, excitedly captioning them, “TONIGHT!! I’m so excited to be back in Vegas! We’re bringing the studio to the stage this time with ‘Studio Sessions!’ See you soon!”
The new residency at Caesars Palace marks Clarkson’s return to the Vegas stage following her previous stint at Planet Hollywood Resort from 2023–2024. But this sudden change has fueled further speculation about the singer’s future, especially as reports swirl about her possible exit from “The Kelly Clarkson Show.”
Clarkson’s talk show, which has won multiple Emmys, is currently under contract with NBC through 2026. However, according to sources, she may be reconsidering her role.
