Each week, Yardbarker spotlights college football stars, some of whom will be playing on NFL Sundays. With that in mind, here are Week 7 standouts.
Chambliss (6-foot, 205 pounds) may lack the ideal frame of a QB1 in the NFL Draft. But has there been a better QB in college football this season?
Chambliss outplayed his former backup, Austin Simmons, in a 31-3 drubbing of the Missouri Tigers, completing 20-of-36 passes for 241 yards and three touchdowns and rushing for a TD. He ranks 11th in the nation in QBR (83.5) heading into a Week 8 road game against the Texas Longhorns.
“A lot will be made about Chambliss’ smaller frame and the fact he’ll be 25 years old before the 2027 NFL season even begins, but he’s the ultimate point guard at the quarterback position,” wrote ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. on his latest big board.
