Lana Del Rey opened up in a new interview about her marriage to Louisiana bayou tour guide Jeremy Dufrene, whom she met in 2019 and wed in 2023.

The singer described his calm nature, their quirky “parking-lot time,” and how he inspires her music.

Though rejecting the idea of a memoir, Lana Del Rey shared how finding love required silencing outside noise.

Del Rey offered a rare glimpse into her marriage with Jeremy Dufrene, sharing how she fell for the Louisiana native who makes his living guiding visitors through the bayou alongside alligators.

The Grammy-nominated artist first encountered Dufrene in 2019 during one of his swamp tours. Years later, their paths crossed again, and in 2023, they sealed their relationship with a wedding.

“Like many people who work with large, dangerous beasts, Jeremy has a calm, strong presence,” Del Rey told W Magazine. “When we met, I realized pretty immediately that I loved him, but that it might get difficult because of what I was bringing to the table.”

However, her fears were quickly put to rest by Dufrene himself. She recalled him telling her, “I work with alligators—I have tough skin. And he is a man of his word. All the things that made me upset—and there were so many!—he would just listen and say, ‘You be you—and I’ll just love you more.'”

Since marrying Dufrene in 2024, Del Rey admits that the spotlight on their relationship has been unrelenting, to the point where drones have even buzzed above their home to capture glimpses of the ceremony and their first months together.

“If I was him, I would have been nervous—my emotions were more overwhelming than usual, and my usual emotions can be quite overwhelming!” she joked to the publication. “But Jeremy was fine. He told me, ‘Don’t worry about me.'”

When asked whether her husband has inspired her songwriting, the “West Coast” hitmaker revealed that fans have already heard one track connected to him, which will appear on her forthcoming record “Stove.”

“‘Stars Fell on Alabama.’ I open my show with that song—that’s it, so far,” she said. “Jeremy is the most impactful person in my life. He’s quiet in public, but around me, he talks all the time.”

Though she’s often hailed as one of the defining musicians of her era, Del Rey says fans shouldn’t expect a memoir anytime soon.

“Absolutely not,” she told the outlet. “There have been too many personal things that I can’t talk about. Sometimes I think it’s a 50-50 split between people hating me and people respecting my work.”

Del Rey continued, “I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about that, but, to be honest, thinking too much about that is a lose-lose situation. Now I try to be positive: I had a dream of a giant family and a happy life. I had to quiet the noise to find love. And I did.”

Part of that love has meant stepping into Dufrene’s unusual world, one that involves daily encounters with alligators.

“I was nervous at first,” she admitted about the dangers of living around alligators.

“But Louisiana has nicer alligators than Florida,” Del Rey noted. “Jeremy swims with the alligators! I swim in the bayou also, and the alligators are there, but I don’t swim alone.”

Del Rey also shared a new update on her much-anticipated 10th studio album, “Stove,” which is scheduled to drop in early 2026.

The record has undergone multiple iterations since its initial announcement. Originally titled “Lasso” and expected in September 2024, it was later rebranded as “The Right Person Will Stay” with a planned release in May 2025.

The project has now been pushed back once more, with Del Rey explaining that she decided to expand the track list.

“They were more autobiographical than I thought, and that took more time,” she explained to the outlet.

Del Rey also revealed that “Stove” will lean heavily into country influences, a sound she has been exploring for years.
