Leonard provides blunt assessment of Clippers’ new recruits

After losing Paul George at the start of the offseason, the Los Angeles Clippers pivoted to add more specialist role players.

The additions of Kris Dunn and Derrick Jones Jr. give Ty Lue additional options to boost the team’s perimeter defense, while Nic Batum and Kevin Porter Jr. provide more floor spacing. Mo Bamba brings energy and rim-running to the equation.

Despite the franchise’s string of new additions, it would appear Kawhi Leonard has yet to be impressed by any of his new teammates. When addressing the media on Saturday, the two-time NBA champion admitted that “nobody has stood out” to him during the early days of training camp.

“Just watching the new additions we’ve had,” Leonard said. “Kris Dunn, Derrick Jones Jr. to some of the young guys we’ve brought in … Seeing how they can develop. Just watching them from day one, to day two to day three, seeing the progression. But nobody stood out to me so far.”
