Former NFL quarterback and current broadcaster Mark Sanchez has been hospitalized with severe injuries after being stabbed early Saturday morning.

Police in Indianapolis, In. were called to an incident downtown at roughly 12:30 a.m. for a report of two injured people. According to TMZ Sports, one of them was Sanchez, who was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

Justin Powell of FOX59 in Indianapolis reported that two victims were involved, one of whom had injuries consistent with stab wounds. Police said the incident was isolated and began as an argument between two individuals, and an individual was detained at the scene.

Sanchez was in Indianapolis as part of his broadcast duties for Fox. He had been scheduled to do color commentary for Sunday’s game between the Colts and Las Vegas Raiders.

Fox issued a statement Saturday morning confirming that Sanchez was injured and is currently hospitalized in stable condition.
