Marlon Wayans Accused Of Promoting LGBTQ+ ‘Agenda’ After Supporting Son

Marlon Wayans has never been shy about showing his love for his transgender son, Kai, and that’s not stopping anytime soon. During his appearance on the “We In Miami” podcast, the “White Chicks” actor opened up about his “natural instinct” to protect his child, vowing to support them despite what critics might say; however, while many commenters agreed with Wayans’ statement, others seemed frustrated with his stance, claiming the actor was only there to promote an “agenda.”

On the “We In Miami” podcast, Wayans rejected the title of “spokesperson” for fathers of transgender children, insisting that it’s his “natural instinct” to protect his 25-year-old son. “People can judge and say what they want but at the end of the day that’s my child,” he said.

“And I’m gonna love my baby regardless of what anybody says and they should be allowed to have their anonymity and enjoy their life exactly the way they want to enjoy it.”

Wayans went on to say that he’s not in the business of persuading his children to be something they’re not through outdated, troublesome methods. “You can’t beat gay out of someone. You can’t hypnotize someone to not be transgender. You gotta accept and love them,” he said.

Wayans first began speaking about his relationship with his trans son in 2024, explaining that it was challenging to come to terms with at first. However, after a week of reflection, Wayans came around, affirming that his child is still worthy of love regardless of how they identify. “At the end of the day, in my heart, only thing that matters to me is that my child is happy,” he said in a previous interview, according to The Blast.

Wayans later made headlines after sparking controversy with an LGBTQ+-inspired photo shoot in honor of Pride Month. “Happy PRIDE to all my LGBTQ+ peoples. Did a photo shoot with the great photographer @parrish_lewis dope pic. P.S. I’m STRAIGHT… Well, according to my child, CISGENDER male. I just love and support my peoples,” he captioned the photo.

However, Wayans later revealed that he lost several supporters and followers over his support of the queer community. One user even commented on his post, “Boy earned his first L on a Friday morning,” while others vowed to unfollow the actor.

Social media users weighed in on Wayans’ recent statements about his desire to protect his son from hate, with one commending the actor for having his child’s back in such a cruel world. “This is what LOVE is all about. Fight your battles and love each other,” they wrote. Other users also chimed in, calling the performer an “amazing father” and sharing about their love for him. “Love your kids no matter what,” someone else wrote. “Marlon is the father of the century.”

Meanwhile, other commenters weren’t as positive, expressing their disappointment with the “Don’t Be A Menace” star for promoting an “agenda.” One user wrote, “Bad father and calling him legendary is wild.” Another user commented, “Shut up, b-tch.” Someone else posted, “The devil comes up [to] collect fame in Hollywood.”

Wayans’ support for his child is unsurprising, as he’s battled against trolls and other celebrities over his stance on supporting his son and the entire queer community. However, he’s unbothered by the criticism and wavering support. “I’m going to love my baby… I’m a father, and I’m always going to defend them,” he said, according to The Blast. “I’m always going to protect them. I’m always going to respect them. And there’s nothing anybody could ever tell me.” Wayans slammed the “small-minded” people who left him behind, saying they’ve only been replaced by “150” more positive supporters.

According to a report from Them, Wayans got into an explosive argument with rapper Soulja Boy online after the musician made reckless comments about the actor’s son.

Their beef began after Wayans blasted rappers who performed at Donald Trump’s inauguration, saying, “I mean, Soulja Boy, he been cancelled.”

“Soulja Boy better go get that check,” he added. “I don’t think he had a hit since ‘Youuuu,'” referencing the rapper’s 2007 hit single.

Soulja Boy didn’t sit back quietly though, he fired back, calling the actor a “b-tch” before coming for his child.

“Ain’t yo son a tr-nny that suck d-ck,” he wrote in a since-deleted post. “that f-ggot sh-t run in the family huh? @MarlonWayans no wonder u like dressing up as a b-tch it’s in ur blood.”

Wayans didn’t stoop as low in his response, reminding Soulja Boy that being “transphobic” can get him cancelled. “Fortunately for you that you don’t have a career. Apparently, you BEEN canceled for the last 17 years. Crank that was 2007. We waiting,” Wayans finished.
