Tyson has finally shared his thoughts on his highly anticipated fight against Paul, which marked his return to the ring after 21 years.

The famous boxer expressed gratitude for the opportunity to fight again, noting that he had no regrets about getting in the ring for the last time.

“This is one of those situations when you lost but still won. I’m grateful for last night,” Tyson said on X. “No regrets to get in ring one last time. I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won.”

Several others flooded Tyson’s post, praising him for his performance in the fight with Paul.

One person said, “Honestly, you showed durability, heart, and above all else, resilience. To overcome what happened in June and even get in the ring is the biggest win of the night. Forever the goat.”

After his victory against Tyson at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, Paul had a lot to say about the fight, as he implied he held back in order not to hurt his older opponent.

The influencer also claimed he went easier on Tyson by the third round: “I wanted to give the fans a show, but I didn’t want to hurt someone that didn’t need to be hurt.”

Addressing the boos from fans in the final moments of the fight, Paul said he did his best to deliver an exciting performance but struggled because his opponent was “just surviving in the ring.”

“I couldn’t really get him to engage me or slip shots and do something super cool or whatever,” Paul noted, per TMZ. “But I don’t care about what people have to say. They’re always going to have something to say, and that it is what it is.”

Tyson and Paul’s fight was initially scheduled for July 20, but the boxing legend experienced a severe medical emergency in June, which caused the match to be postponed.

“Coming here from Miami on the plane, I went to the bathroom, and I threw up blood. Next thing I know, I’m on the floor, and I was defecating tar,” Tyson said in the Netflix documentary, “Countdown: Paul vs. Tyson,” adding, “So I came (to the hospital), they said I had a big ulcer, two and a half inches, it was bleeding. All my friends were calling me like I’m dying.”

“A week and a half ago, I was training, and I was doing great, and then all of a sudden, I started feeling tired,” Tyson said in the documentary about how he was feeling before the flight. “And I was explaining to my trainer, I don’t know what’s wrong with me.”

Tyson, however, powered through his health challenge and assured his fans that he was “ready to fight.”

“I’ve said everything I had to say. There’s nothing else to say. I’m just looking forward to fighting,” Tyson said. “I’m not going to lose.”
