President-elect Donald Trump reportedly joked that Canada should become the 51st state and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, its governor if they can’t stop ripping off the American people.
Undoubtedly true, and a classically disarming Trump line.
Now, though, MSNBC host Joy Reid is broken.
Trump originally proposed a 25% tariff on our neighbors to the North if they didn’t work to stop illegal immigration (Yes, that’s a thing, too) at the border and the scourge of fentanyl pouring into the United States along with it.
As a result, Trudeau huffed his way on down to Mar-a-Lago to hash things out, then got hit with a buzzsaw.
Fox News senior White House correspondent Peter Doocy spoke with two people who were at the dinner table when Trudeau traveled to Trump’s home in Palm Beach, Florida.
“We are told that when Trudeau told President-elect Trump that new tariffs would kill the Canadian economy,” Doocy said, “Trump joked to him that, ‘If Canada can’t survive without ripping off the US to the tune of $100 billion a year, then maybe Canada should become the 51st state and Trudeau could become its governor.”

Joy Reid Loses It Over Trump’s Canada Joke
It has been reported that there was nervous laughter at the table after Trump joked about annexing Canada. And, master troll that he is, the President-elect followed it up with a gorgeous meme on Truth Social.
He posted an AI image of himself staring across snow-capped mountain peaks alongside a Canadian flag. He captioned it, “Oh, Canada!”
Suffice it to say, Joy Reid, didn’t appreciate Trump’s joke about Canada. And she expressed her dismay in meltdown mode.
“Let’s bring you back to the U.S. and to our local gangster, Donald Trump,” Reid said. “He’s not even president yet and he’s already spending his time sitting in his golden palace, Mar-a-Lago, muscling other countries like he’s Tony Soprano with his social media site.”
Amazingly, she appears to take issue with Trump demanding Hamas terrorists release hostages.
Trump is “demanding Hamas release all hostages being held in Gaza before his inauguration or there will be ‘all hell to pay’ in the Middle East,” she rabidly spat.
Oh no! Who would want such a thing?
And he’s “even reportedly threatening Canada.” Dear, me. Threatening!

Reid Has Been Losing Her Mind Since Trump Won The Election
Reid didn’t see Trump’s Canada joke as a joke. Mostly because she’s humorless on a humorless network of hacks who cater to humorless viewers.
“According to Fox, when Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau went to Mar-a-Lago this weekend to try to talk Trump out of his 25 percent tariff threat, Trump apparently suggested that if Canada can’t handle the tariffs that would violate the NAFTA upgrade that Trump himself signed into law, the USMCA, they should just become the 51st state,” she relayed.
“Just become the 51st instead, allow Justin Trudeau to be reduced to governor of the state of Canada,” the exasperated host continued. “Which caused Trudeau and others to laugh nervously.”
“And while some are just writing that off as a joke, just a few hours ago Trump posted this obviously AI photo of him standing on a mountaintop, next to the Canadian flag, looking off into the distance, with the caption: ‘Oh, Canada!’”
Do you need a tissue, Joy? Actually, it has gone well beyond that. Reid needs an intervention. It was just last week that she was telling family members who voted for Trump that they were not welcome during Thanksgiving.
This rant by Joy Reid is something special. She has the emotional and intellectual maturity of a child.

“Make your own dinner MAGA, make your own sandwiches, wipe your own tears, troll amongst yourselves with Elon and leave us alone,” she said, eyelashes practically falling off from her own tears. “You got your heart’s desire, the president you dreamed of in worship instead of Jesus.”
Trump may have handily won the election, but TDS isn’t going anywhere.
