Agent Drew Rosenhaus recently suggested that veteran wide receiver Tyreek Hill would soon find a new NFL home amid his recovery from the gruesome knee injury he suffered while with the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 29, 2025.
That said, Hill remains the subject of an active NFL personal conduct policy review after his estranged wife came forward with allegations of domestic violence against him. A civil trial regarding those accusations got underway this week, and Hill took the stand on Thursday.
Tyreek Hill admits to pushing estranged wife against a wall
According to Xuan Thai of ESPN, Hill said that he was “embarrassed” after his wife “initiated an intimate encounter” following their April 2025 separation.
“I told her that night, I said, ‘don’t you ever touch me in your life,'” Hill explained. “I pushed her against the wall, and I tried to force her to get off me. I created a hole in the wall trying to force her to get off me that night. …I go pick up [his daughter], you know, the next day, literally with the cops. She wearing lingerie. She wasn’t expecting that.”
Hill also said he was “deeply ashamed” for once saying he was “able to get people to hurt” his estranged wife. However, he denied that he physically abused her on multiple occasions.
How Thursday may impact Tyreek Hill’s NFL future
As shared by the NFL’s website, Hill had been temporarily barred from all Kansas City Chiefs team-related activities throughout springtime workouts in 2019 as a result of a child abuse investigation. He ultimately wasn’t charged with a crime, and the NFL didn’t suspend him at that time.
However, Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio noted on Friday that “the civil trial significantly complicates [Hill’s] desire to play again” as soon as this season.
“Even if the NFL doesn’t choose to banish him with the opportunity to apply for reinstatement after a year — the strongest punishment available under the personal conduct policy — what team in its right mind would sign him after the testimony of the past few days?” Florio added.
While numerous stories had linked Hill with a potential return to the Chiefs, a Wednesday report indicated that Kansas City could and should look elsewhere for help at the position. It sounds like the events of this week could cause the Chiefs to do just that.
