No. 20 Michigan mounts big comeback win over No. 7 Purdue

After trailing 53-45 with 9:17 remaining in the game, No. 20 Michigan Wolverines went on a 30-20 run to end the game and knock off No. 7 Purdue, 75-73.

Purdue blew Michigan out of the water just three weeks ago in a 91-64 thumping from the Boilermakers. Michigan has won five straight games since then and now sits alone in first place in the Big Ten.

The Wolverines trailed by double digits in the first half, before closing on a 9-0 run to make it a two-point deficit at halftime.

Michigan led for just 3:14 of game time, its least amount in a victory this season.

As he usually does, Danny Wolf played 37 of 40 game minutes and led the Wolverines with 15 points and nine rebounds.

Roddy Gayle Jr. (14 points), Tre Donaldson (12 points) and Vladislav Goldin (12 points) were also in double figures.

The loss for Purdue was its first since Jan. 21, and it has a margin of defeat of just five points in its last two losses.

Veterans Brayden Smith and Trey Kaufman-Renn combined for 46 of the Boilermakers 73 points.

A key factor in the loss for Purdue was its bench being outscored 21-0 by the Wolverine bench.

Michigan has two massive games upcoming against Ohio State on Friday and No. 11 Michigan State, which could decide the Big Ten.

Winning both of those games will certainly begin conversations about Michigan creeping up into No. 2-seed territory heading into the NCAA Tournament.
