Orlando Bloom Reportedly Surprised By Katy Perry’s Date With Justin Trudeau

The singer was in the country for the North American leg of her ongoing Lifetimes tour and unexpectedly met up with the politician in what has been described as a “romantic setting.”

Orlando Bloom, who recently split from the singer, reportedly “didn’t see this coming” as they had only just broken up.

In June, multiple outlets confirmed that Bloom and his long-term partner Perry had split after dating for nearly a decade and sharing a child together.

But in July, Perry was spotted in Canada on a date with Justin Trudeau after flying into the country for the North American leg of her tour.

While such a meetup might not typically raise many eyebrows, sources confirmed through a chef at the restaurant that the location is “a romantic setting.”

This seemed to imply that there was more to their get-together, which was supported by the duo also heading to the restaurant’s rooftop bar after sharing a meal together.

Now, according to a source close to Bloom, he has been left surprised by Perry’s meetup with Trudeau, which an insider claimed was “most certainly a date.”

“He didn’t see this coming, but he wishes Katy nothing but peace and happiness,” the insider told Radar Online.

Previously, it was reported that Bloom seemed to shade Perry’s connection with Trudeau after he reacted to a post from a satirical news site.

The site, called The Onion, had posted a mocked-up photo of Bloom and Angela Merkel at a candlelit dinner, alongside a fake caption from an “insider” that claimed, “Angela kept Orlando laughing all night – he couldn’t keep his eyes off her!”

According to OK! Magazine, Perry didn’t find the post amusing, as it seemed directed at her outing with Trudeau.

She was also left feeling “very let down and humiliated” by her ex due to the clapping emoji reaction he made to the post.

As reported by OK!, Bloom’s recent actions made Perry realize that the actor was never the right partner for her, despite their decade-long romance.

“She’s realising that he wasn’t the right person for her,” a source said about Perry and Bloom.

They continued, “He’s showing his true colours and it’s really very hurtful and spiteful to her, especially as it probably means the end of any possible friendship with him in future.”

“She hoped they’d both be mature after the break-up, so she’s feeling really disappointed,” the source added.

While Perry and Tradeau have yet to confirm the nature of their relationship, an insider informed The U.S. Sun that it is “still a very new flirty friendship” for now.

However, they are not hoping that Trudeau will be the next man in her life, given his reputation as a serial dater.

“Katy’s friends want her to have fun after her split from Orlando, but she’s still very much grieving the end of their relationship and the fact that she never made it down the aisle,” the source told the outlet.

The insider added, “They don’t want her to rush into something serious, and have heard Justin has a bit of a reputation as a womanizer, and that he loves the fame game.”
