Popular TikTok creator Mr Prada arrested

Popular TikTok creator Terryon Thomas, known as Mr Prada to nearly 4 million followers, has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated criminal damage to property, resisting an officer and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Police in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, issued a warrant for Thomas’ arrest Tuesday after, officials say, he refused to comply with officers during a traffic stop, according to an affidavit filed Tuesday. The arrest warrant claims that the vehicle Thomas was driving was reported stolen and that Thomas backed into the officers’ car and fled.

Thomas was arrested in Dallas and awaits extradition to Baton Rouge.

On the day the arrest warrant was issued, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana posted on Facebook describing an identical traffic stop incident, along with photos of a person of interest, who it said was the last person believed to have driven a stolen vehicle in the described incident. The post did not name Thomas; it asked for more information about the person in the photos.

The Facebook post said the stolen vehicle used in the incident is believed to belong to therapist William Nicholas Abraham, 69, whose body was found wrapped in a tarp on the side of a highway Sunday.

Law enforcement officials are investigating Abraham’s death as a homicide and have not named a suspect. A representative for the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, which is leading the investigation, said in an email that it has “no information for release.”

Social media posts speculating that Thomas was the person of interest in the Facebook post spread on social media Tuesday. Numerous posts across TikTok and X, some getting millions of views, falsely claimed that Thomas was wanted for killing Abraham.

Thomas gained notoriety on TikTok for his comedic videos, many of which he was accused of copying from other creators, according to Know Your Meme. Thomas made now-deleted videos expressing that he was unapologetic about replicating other creators, according to Know Your Meme.

Baton Rouge police and representatives for Thomas did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
