President Joe Biden has announced another substantial aid package to Ukraine as he continues to open the spigot of American taxpayer dollars to the war-torn country.

The latest commitment includes nearly $2.5 billion in security assistance, comprising both immediate military support and long-term investments in Ukraine’s defense capabilities.

    But it gets worse.

NBC News reports that on top of that, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen announced the administration will provide $3.4 billion pay their government bureaucrats’ salaries.

“The money will pay salaries for civilian government and school employees, healthcare workers and first responders,” they write.

Funneling As Much Money To Ukraine As Possible

In what universe does it make sense for the United States, specifically the American taxpayers, to pay for government workers in another country?

It’s all by design, as the White House has made it clear that they are sending as much aid as they can to Ukraine before Donald Trump’s inauguration later this month. Trump has vowed to stop the war in Ukraine by negotiating a peace deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Speaking anonymously to Reuters after the election, two Biden administration officials outlined the strategy to circumvent Trump’s efforts to stop wasting money on foreign wars.

“The administration plans to push forward … to put Ukraine in the strongest position possible,” one source told the outlet.

Always trying to put foreign nations in the strongest position, never worried about putting the American people in the same position.

Will Trump Slow Down The Aid?

Americans have been increasingly vocal about their desire for Donald Trump to halt U.S. financial support to Ukraine, primarily due to concerns over fiscal responsibility and national priorities.

Many argue that the billions of dollars allocated for Ukrainian aid could be better spent addressing domestic issues like border security and infrastructure, as well as reducing the national debt. Or, just for example, helping our own citizens in North Carolina.

There’s a sentiment among some factions that America’s resources should not be stretched thin by international conflicts that do not directly impact U.S. security.

President-elect Trump has been critical of Biden’s assistance for Ukraine, including denouncing the administration’s escalation of the war with Russia by allowing Ukraine to strike inside Russia with US weapons.

“We’re just escalating this war and making it worse,” Trump said. “That should not have been allowed to be done. Now they’re doing not only missiles, but they’re doing other types of weapons. And I think that’s a very big mistake, very big mistake.”

Not another penny to that country unless there is some tangible benefit to America and the money can be audited.
