Aaron Jones wants to finish his NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings.

Jones is having a successful season, helping the Vikings to a 14-2 record with 378 receiving yards and three touchdowns and rushing for 1,093 yards and five touchdowns.

“This is an excellent place,” Jones told reporters Wednesday. “This is where I hope to finish my career.”

Jones began his NFL career with the Green Bay Packers when the team selected him in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He had good seasons with the Packers, highlighted by his season-best 16 rushing touchdowns in 2019. While Jones had a drop-off in his final season with the Packers by rushing for a career-low 656 yards and two touchdowns in 2023, he ran for 118 yards and three touchdowns in the wild-card game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Jones set the Packers record for playoff rushing touchdowns (7) and tied a franchise record for rushing touchdowns in a game.

He could send the Vikings to the NFL playoffs as NFC North champions with a win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday night. Either way, the Vikings are going to the playoffs, and Jones will be a part of it.

He also knows that fans have commented on his injury-prone nature. Jones was a limited participant Wednesday because of a quadriceps injury, but he is ready to go.

“Last year, I missed a handful of games,” said Jones, “and played through injury as well. With that I guess the narrative got out that ‘He’s injury-prone and constantly injured. … [This season], I’m letting guys know that whatever I go through throughout the week, or in that game, I’m going to be ready the following Sunday.”
