In a recent interview, the “Pitch Perfect” actress revealed that while her family didn’t have a problem embracing their relationship, Agruma’s family wasn’t as quick to offer support.

Although things weren’t hostile, Rebel admitted that acceptance didn’t come instantly, but thankfully, time and love helped bridge the gap.

Rebel Wilson Says Her Wife’s Family Didn’t Accept Their Romance Initially

During an interview on SiriusXM Hits 1’s show “Ben +1,” Rebel Wilson opened up about the early days of her relationship with Agruma.

The Hollywood star explained that coming out wasn’t difficult on her end. She shared that her family was supportive from the beginning and had no issues accepting Agruma as her partner.

However, it wasn’t the same for her wife’s family. Wilson said Agruma’s family didn’t immediately embrace the relationship, mainly due to cultural differences.

The 45-year-old clarified that it wasn’t a hostile rejection, just a need for time and understanding.

“It took them a little bit of time. I think some people from some cultures because it was the same-see wedding, I guess. They just needed a little bit of time, and now you wouldn’t even notice that anything happened previously,” she said per PEOPLE Magazine.

Rebel Wilson further described the turnout of events as “a happy ending,” adding that her wife’s parents had visited and stayed with them at their new house, and there was never any feuding.

“It took them time, which is fair enough. They’re from a different culture, but all worked out in the end, which I think is a good message,” she explained.

    Rebel Wilson Ties The Knot

While navigating parenthood, Wilson decided to take her relationship with Agruma further by popping the big question at Disneyland. On September 28, 2024, the couple tied the knot in a lavish wedding in Italy.

The ceremony took place at Hotel Cala di Volpe in Porto Cervi on the Italian Island of Sardinia. For the pair, getting married in Italy was highly significant as it was the location of their first vacation as a couple.

Two days after the wedding, Wilson gave her Instagram fans a peek into her destination wedding. She shared a stunning photo of herself and Agruma holding hands.

The couple looked dazzling in white, overflowing wedding dresses while holding white flower bouquets.

    Wilson Married Agruma Again

Following the Italian wedding, Rebel Wilson married Ramona Agruma for the second time in Australia. She confirmed the news in an Instagram post in December 2024, sharing a series of photos.

In the post, the actress revealed that her sister, Liberty, officiated the wedding, which their closest friends and family attended.

Rebel Wilson Involved In A Lawsuit

    MEGA

A few months before the wedding announcement, Wilson made the headlines after producers Amanda Ghost, Gregory Cameron, and Vince Holden filed a lawsuit against the actress.

They claimed Wilson falsely accused them of embezzling funds from “The Deb” and engaging in absolute viciousness and retaliatory behavior.

However, Wilson counter-sued, accusing the producers of undermining the film project, embezzling funds, and sexually harassing the lead actress, Charlotte MacInnes.

Surprisingly, MacInnes later submitted court documents claiming that she had informed Wilson that no sexual misconduct had taken place.

She further described the allegations as absurd. Months later, the case still remains in court, and further details about the lawsuit have yet to surface.
