The Seattle Seahawks may turn their attention to Sam Darnold after they traded Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders, and one report offered a strong hint about the type of offer Darnold could receive.

Smith was traded to the Raiders on Friday night in exchange for a third-round draft pick. Seattle made the decision to move the veteran quarterback after the two sides were not making progress in contract negotiations.

According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, the Seahawks were willing to offer Smith an extension worth around $35 million per year. Smith’s camp was seeking closer to $45 million annually.
