British press is aflame with the report that a dossier detailing Lord Mandelson’s alleged links to China has reportedly been handed to the FBI.
The man chosen by PM Keir Starmer to be the next US Ambassador may see his chances of being accepted as ambassador to the US by Donald Trump diminishing rapidly.
Using open-source information from the Chinese web, the dossier was delivered to the FBI by US senators, and it’s said to contain multiple examples of the Labour peer links to the Chinese state and its top-ranking officials.
So, let’s recapitulate: the Labour party’s ‘Prince of Darkness’ has consistently trashed US President Donald J. Trump, is deeply suspected of improper Chinese connections, and don’t even get us started on his close Jeffrey Epstein ties!
The Telegraph reported:
“The peer found himself in hot water just hours after his appointment was announced last month, when The Telegraph revealed he previously described Mr. Trump as a ‘danger to the world’ and ‘little short of a white nationalist and racist’.
That led Chris LaCivita, the campaign manager who masterminded Mr. Trump’s presidential run, to call Lord Mandelson an ‘absolute moron’.
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the Republican wrote: ‘This UK government is special. Replace a professional universally respected [ambassador] with an absolute moron – he should stay home! Sad!’”
Australian news site The Nightly reported:
“We can reveal that a dossier prepared by Chung Ching Kwong of the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China seen by US Senators has been subsequently passed on to the FBI.
Asked if he was confident of passing a US security check given his business dealings in China, Lord Mandelson told The Nightly: ‘I have had no business dealings in China’.
But the dossier, also sighted by The Nightly, contains multiple instances of Chinese Communist Party figures praising or thanking the Labour peer for working with state enterprises.
In one instance, Lord Mandelson is even recorded as an adviser to the Chinese-headquartered global investment bank China International Capital Corporation (CICC) – which is not declared on his House of Lords register.”
The Nightly pressed Mandelson over how he could insist to have never had business dealings in China when presented with these specific examples, but he did not respond.
Lord Mandelson co-founded Global Counsel in 2010. The Messina Group, from former Obama strategist Jim Messina, purchased a 20 per cent stake last year.
“In a solicitation letter also obtained by The Nightly, Peter Mandelson wrote to prospective clients asking them to hire his firm noting that he had ‘travelled extensively, renewing my networks in … China … Hong Kong and in other countries’.
More recently, the firm, in which he reduced his stake not long ago, has been reported in the British media as advising TikTok, which the United States is forcing to divest from its Chinese ownership or face a ban, as well as fast fashion company Shein which has its factories in China.”
