Ricky Gervais Takes Dig At Will Smith’s Son Jaden With ‘Bald’ Joke

The comedian trolled 26-year-old Jaden over his weird outfit at the Grammy Awards last weekend while referencing Chris Rock’s Oscar joke about Jada being bald.

Despite the joke being very controversial, it left fans in stitches, with many praising Ricky Gervais for his dig at Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith.

At the Grammys, Will Smith’s son Jaden raised eyebrows with his quirky dress to the ceremony.

From his shoulders down to his feet, the actor and singer gave off a look that did not seem out of place as he wore a designer suit.

However, for whatever reason, the singer chose to wear an elaborate black headgear shaped like a castle on his head.

As the look went viral and led to Jaden being ridiculed, comedian Ricky Gervais joined in on the fun with a joke of his own that trolled both the 26-year-old and his mother.

“Maybe he’s bald like his mum,” Gervais said on X (formerly Twitter) about Jaden’s look, referencing the Oscar joke made by Chris Rock.

At the time, Rock received a resounding slap from Smith after making the joke, which led to the “Gemini man” star being banned from the Oscars for 10 years.

Down in the comment section of Gervais’ post, fans jokingly shared their worries that he might receive the same slap treatment from Smith.

One wrote, “He’s gonna slap you up,” while another commented, “Duck, Ricky!”

A third X user remarked, “Ooof, you are pushing Will to act…. out!! lol.”

Another fan noted, “I reckon Chris Rock could have done with one of these… Hell of a good slap defense on the old Castle Headgear…”

Some also praised Gervais’ comedic genius, describing the joke as “already the best post of the year” and “brilliant.”

Fans also trolled Jaden’s look, sharing quips that touched on gender, family, and decorations.

An X netizen remarked, “Maybe he identifies himself as a castle. Please…” while another user commented, “Maybe Jaden’s now head of the family household.”

A third person wrote, “I wonder if he decorates it for the various seasons… Christmas lights, Easter bunnies… etc.”

Someone else commented that Jaden’s choice to dress in that manner was an attention-seeking stunt.

They wrote, “There’s no way he’s slipped that castle/house on his head and looked in the mirror and thought ‘Yeah, this looks class let’s go’ haha. He clearly needs attention. Bless him.”

When the Oscars slap incident went viral, many of Gervais’ fans were curious about how he would have reacted if he were in Rock’s position, given his history of roasting fellow stars.

Gervais ultimately gave a reply while testing new material at a show in London’s Highgate at the time.

“I’ll get it out of the way. I have not got any Will Smith material. I trended when that happened, and I was not even there,” he said, per The Mirror. “What has it got to do with me? People were going, ‘What would have happened if Ricky Gervais had been doing it (hosting Oscars)?'”

He added, “Well, nothing, as I would not have made a joke about his wife’s hair. I would have made a joke about her boyfriend.”

Will and Jada’s marriage was intensely scrutinized after the actor infamously slapped Rock during the 2022 Oscars.

The altercation transpired after Rock made a joke about Jada’s shaved head, which angered Will, prompting him to walk upstage and slap  him hard on the face before warning him to “keep my wife’s name out of your f-cking mouth.”

The “Gemini” actor has apologized several times since then amid his 10-year ban from the prestigious award ceremony. However, sources claim Will still dislikes Rock because of his “smug attitude.”

“Will’s getting the last laugh and loving it,” a source told InTouch Weekly, adding that Will “will never forgive Chris for ruining his life, even though he’s managed to pick up the pieces in the last year.”

The insider noted that the Oscar winner star “still hates the guy and his smug attitude.”
