Rodgers takes another shot at Jets ahead of Steelers’ playoff game vs. Texans?

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has made it known on multiple occasions that he is enjoying his time as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers after his two-season stint with the New York Jets mostly did not go as he or the Jets hoped.

While speaking with reporters on Thursday, Rodgers seemed to take his latest shot at the Jets.

Did Aaron Rodgers reference previous “leaks” with Jets?

“One of the things I love, and this is kinda the antithesis of where I was, there’s not really any leaks in the boat,” Rodgers said about featuring for the Steelers, per Erich Richter of the New York Post. “Every year you have difficulties and adversity, both on the field and off the field, and to go through a season like this and be able to focus on football and not have a lot of other little bulls— out there has been really nice.”

Back in December 2023, Rodgers complained that unnamed people within the Jets were responsible for “a bunch of leaks” after it was reported that then-New York quarterback Zach Wilson was “reluctant to step back into the starting role” that fall. Rodgers later ripped those individuals for not handling things “in-house.”

More recently, Rodgers acknowledged that he was “happy to beat everybody associated with the Jets” as Pittsburgh’s QB1 in Week 1 of this season. In December, he suggested he had been more “comfortable” with the Steelers than he ever was with the Jets.

When Aaron Rodgers knew he made the right decision in joining the Steelers

Rodgers remained a free agent this past offseason until he officially signed with the Steelers in early June. On Thursday, he revealed the “confirmation moments” that let him know Pittsburgh was the right NFL home for him at this point in his Hall of Fame career.

“When I got here, day one, minicamp, I felt like it was a little different in a good way,” Rodgers explained, according to Jeremy Pike of Steelers Depot. “And I liked the feeling. And then obviously the Latrobe experience [training camp] was a really positive one. Thankful that [Steelers owner and president Art Rooney II] still has the team do that every single year. It’s a good chemistry building, team bonding opportunity.”

Rodgers and the 10-7 Steelers will host the 12-5 Houston Texans for a wild-card playoff matchup this coming Monday night. As of Friday morning, DraftKings Sportsbook had Pittsburgh as a three-point home underdog for that game.
