Spencer Pratt has provided an emotional update on how he is coping with the loss of his Pacific Palisades home.

Pratt and his wife, Heidi Montag, were among the nearly 150,000 residents who were either displaced or lost their homes in the deadly wildfires that ravaged Los Angeles in January.

The couple continuously updated their fans about their situation after losing their home and received donations from well-wishers in the aftermath.

On Friday, Pratt spoke to PRIDE about his struggles as he tries to move on from his family’s devastating experience in January.

In addition to Pratt and Montag losing their Pacific Palisades home, his parents also lost their home of 40 years.

In his update, the television personality revealed that his parents had put up what is left of their burned home up for sale.

He shared, “This has been a really hard week. My parents just put their house, or the dirt that I grew up in, for sale.”

Pratt also disclosed that he and Montag might follow in his parents’ footsteps due to the high cost of rebuilding.

He said, “I’m just realizing that Heidi and I probably need to [do] that next. It just costs too much to rebuild in 2025.”

The 41-year-old added, “If you try to process it, it’s just like spiraling out.”

What Is Spencer Pratt Up To Lately?

Although Pratt continues to deal with the emotions of losing his home to the Pacific Palisades inferno, that hasn’t stopped him from exploring his passion for reality television.

“The Hills” alum is participating in the new Hulu show, “Got To Get Out,” alongside popular reality TV stars like Kim Zolciak, Cynthia Bailey, and Omarosa.

The show features 20 contestants trapped in a house who must utilize their strategic skills to escape. The contestants who find a way to get out of the house stand a chance of winning a million dollars.

Pratt stressed that his focus is on the show as he tries to make money to rebuild his burned home.

He said, “I should only be focusing on our current reality, which is being on Hulu! I took this show too serious. If anything, I wish I had not.”

Pratt added, ” may have lost some years off my life in stress, anxiety, and lack of sleep. Obviously, I need a lot of money and success to rebuild my house.”

In January, Pratt and Montag were left trying to pick up the pieces after the devastating Los Angeles wildfire tore through their Los Angeles neighborhood, leaving their home in ruins.

A video showed Pratt at the site of their burned-down house, trying to recover sentimental items, including his cherished crystals. Montag, visibly emotional, took to TikTok to share a heartfelt update with her followers. In the video, she expressed gratitude that, despite the loss of their home, her family remained unharmed.

“While we ended up losing our house in the fire, thank God we are safe,” she said. Fighting back tears, the mom of two also thanked their supporters for the outpouring of love and support. “So, thank you to everyone who is checking, thank you for all your prayers, thank you for your thoughts,” Montag added.

The couple’s emotional update resonated with fans who had been following their journey for years, from reality TV fame to family life in California.

In the wake of the fire, friends of the couple started a GoFundMe campaign to help the family rebuild. Although many fans rallied behind the initiative, some criticized Pratt and Montag for accepting public donations.

Addressing the backlash, Pratt told Us Weekly, “If people want to send their own money to whoever they want, it’s the equivalent to buying a celebrity’s merch, buying their movie tickets. People can do whatever they want with their own money and, thank God, there’s people who want to support and send us whatever.”

Montag clarified that neither she nor Pratt had asked for help directly. “Then our friends Brandon and Courtney [from TikTok] were like, ‘We don’t care what you say. We know people who want to donate money to you and even if it’s one donation that’s going to help you,'” she explained.

Pratt added, “When this first happened, that first day, they created a GoFundMe on their own and it just kept on doing great and so amazing.”

Despite the mixed reactions, the couple remained focused on moving forward and staying strong for their family during the emotional chapter.
