After weeks of speculation and negotiations, the Golden State Warriors and head coach Steve Kerr have a decision on their future together: Kerr is coming back.

According to a report from ESPN’s Shams Charania on Saturday, Kerr and the Warriors have agreed to a new two-year contract extension that will not only keep him on the Warriors bench but will also keep him as the NBA’s highest-paid coach.

Kerr has been the Warriors’ head coach since the start of the 2014-15 season, and since then has helped build the organization into one of the most dominant ones in the entire NBA.

Under Kerr’s watch, the Warriors have appeared in six NBA finals, winning four of them, including their most recent championship during the 2021-22 season.
