Taylor Frankie Paul’s Mom Claps Back At The Hate: ‘Get Your Facts Straight’

The second season of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” offered viewers non-stop drama. One of the many storylines fans are talking about is Taylor Frankie Paul‘s family BBQ where viewers didn’t exactly like the dialogue and how Paul was treated by her family.

Because of this scene, as well as some other moments throughout the season, Paul’s mom Liann has been the target of some hateful comments on social media. She recently shared an Instagram post to clap back at all the haters and to let them know they need to get their “facts straight.”

Not long after the second season dropped on Hulu, fans started discussing the scene with Taylor’s family, and not in a good way.

The scene in question – when Taylor’s family invited her ex, Dakota Mortensen, to the family BBQ and the conversation became heated. At one point during the scene, Taylor’s stepfather points blame in Paul’s direction and that caused her to call herself “trash.”

She took to Instagram to speak her mind on the scene and stick up for her family.

“I know this is a harsh scene. Believe me when I say my FAMILY is my biggest support system. There was a lot going on and emotions were heightened,” she wrote.

“They have held me at my lowest EVERY TIME. Hard moment for us all. I love them [heart emoji] we all cried watching. I promise they are the ones always here for me.”

Taylor’s mom, Liann, recently posted on Instagram after receiving negative comments and DMs from viewers of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.”

“For all the ignorant people coming to my page, with all the dm’s. Get your facts straight. I [heart emoji] Tay & my other kids more than life itself. I would never be jealous of them. That’s ludicrous! I don’t have to want to look like my daughter, she looks like me! It’s called genetics!” she wrote in her caption.

“I want them to have BETTER lives than I could ever have. Yes, I hold my kids to a higher standard & would like them to be accountable with the decisions they make, especially Tay bcuz she has kids.”

She continued by saying that viewers only saw a “3 minute convo without all the facts” and that there were “tons of stuff that we were unaware.”

“My husband and I say it like it is. Good & bad. Truth to the fault. We ‘ve always praised them with all their achievements,” she continued. “I did get a nose job and blepharoplasty, and not my whole face, but I wished I would have now, & paid with my OWN money, I don’t need Taylor’s. Here’s pictures for ur Reddit trolls. Get ur pictures and timeline correct.”

Taylor not only stuck up for her family in her own Instagram Story, but she also took to the comment section of her mom’s post to share some more thoughts.

“I love you. Best mom. You don’t need to defend yourself. Everyone around you knows you and that’s all that matters,” she wrote.

Many others also shared their thoughts in the comments.

“Your husband called her a slut .. more than once. That is never ok,” one person wrote. Another added, “I tell my kids how it is too. But never ever EVER would I have alluded to the fact my daughter getting cheated on was her fault, nor would I allow her dad or her stepdad to speak to her that way weather it was 3min of a convo, what was shown was not okay.”

And there’s plenty more where that came from.

“The dad’s comment basically validating Dakota’s cheating because Taylor jumped into his bed right away, was wrong! Come on, take some accountability,” one viewer wrote. Another said, “That scene triggered tf out of me and everyone who has healed from toxic, gaslighting, shaming families.”

The conversation about the BBQ scene with Taylor’s family has dripped onto TikTok, with viewers chatting amongst themselves about what they are bothered by.

TikToker @michelleannxo broke the scene down with her thoughts. She explained that since the BBQ scene, she’s been in her “nosey person bag” trying to figure things out. She talks about Liann’s response to the hate on Instagram and “dissects” the post.

Her viewers dropped into the comment section to share their thoughts.

“Taylor sticks up for everyone, but nobody sticks up for her,” one viewer shared. Another said, “She’s more concerned about how she is being shown on tv with the backlash vs apologizing and saying her words and actions were harmful for her child and will work on it.”
