Taylor Swift Faces Backlash Over NYC Date Night Outfit

Joining the couple was comedian Jerrod Carmichael as they dined at the Chez Margaux restaurant in New York City on November 8.

On Friday, the “Lavender Haze” singer received five 2025 Grammy nominations for her latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department” and its lead single, “Fortnight,” featuring Post Malone, who scored some Grammy nominations of his own.

Unfortunately, Post Malone did not join Zoë Kravitz or Jerrod Carmichael as they enjoyed a night out in New York City’s Meatpacking District. According to Peoplemagazine, Swift wore a Vivienne Westwood Sunday striped corset dress in blue, yellow, and red. She paired the look with Aquazurra Twist 95 sandals in a burgundy velvet color.

In addition to her colorful dress, the “Bad Blood” singer also accessorized her outfit with a Vivienne Westwood Granny Frame purse in black leather. She also wore a gold pendant chain necklace with a matching bracelet. Her long blonde hair was pulled into a low bun, leaving a few tendrils free to frame her face. As for make-up, she went for an orange-red lip with red eyeshadow and black eyeliner.

On a Pop Culture Chat Reddit page, fans had a lot of thoughts about her colorful new look. “This dress is giving chic art teacher vibes for me. Lovely,” one fan commented. “Unleashing her inner Phoebe Buffay,” another follower agreed. “I love it!” a third fan chimed in, adding, “I assume everyone in the comments hates it. I can already tell it’s going to be a dress that sparks opinions, but idk, it works for me.”

“I know Vivienne Westwood is like a master of corsets, but the fit on this one just looks off. I suspect it has something to do with the sleeve design and/or the fabric, but it renders the whole dress bulky, which usually isn’t the goal with corsetry. The “So High School” singer has been rocking a lot of red to support her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce, of the Kansas City Chiefs. Lately, she has made headlines for sporting a “rare” Chiefs jacket that was apparently sold by a fan on eBay for only $169.

TikTok user @courttokslol said that it was her jacket that Swift was wearing when she turned up at the November 4 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. According to a TikTok, the user said that she sold it last August.

“We sold it this past August, so it’s definitely cool to see how many months are going into the planning of each of these outfits that she’s wearing,” she explained. “It’s definitely a rare jacket, so, like, that’s why we even noticed in the first place that she was wearing it, because I think ours was the only one on eBay at the time when we listed it.”

“So, it makes sense that if Taylor and her stylist had their eye on this particular piece, they bought it from us. It’s so crazy, and crazy to know they’re looking at these resale sites and awesome that they’re reusing old, vintage pieces,” she added, noting that the size of the jacket was a men’s small.

At the game, Swift paired the jacket with denim Agolde shorts, a black Dior saddle bag, and $2,195 thigh-high Christian Louboutin Santia Botta boots.
