The ‘Active NFL carries leaders’ quiz

For the past three seasons, David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs (or “Sonic and Knuckles”) have been one of the most productive backfields in the NFL. But with paydays looming for both players, the Lions traded Montgomery to the Houston Texans for two draft picks and OL Juice Scruggs.

While Montgomery got more of the ball in Gibbs’ rookie campaign in 2023, the former 12th-overall draft pick out of Alabama has taken an increasing stranglehold on the Lions backfield. In 2025, Montgomery got the fewest rush attempts of his seven-year career (158) with Gibbs outcarrying him by 85 and catching 53 more passes.

Even with his decreased touches last season, Montgomery was still effective, averaging 4.5 yards-per-carry and rushing for eight touchdowns despite a career-low 716 yards.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Montgomery has racked up 1,477 carries in his career between the Bears and Lions, good for ninth amongst active players. With that being said, can you name the active NFL players with at least 700 carries in their career?

    Good luck!
