There was a point in the 2025-26 NBA season where it seemed Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo might never play for Milwaukee again.
But after missing the past five weeks with a calf strain and surviving the trade deadline, the two-time MVP is returning to the hardwood for Milwaukee’s game against Boston on Monday night. Despite sitting 26-33 and three games behind the Charlotte Hornets for the final Play-In spot in the Eastern Conference, the Bucks were actually above .500 (8-7) without Antetokounmpo. But with back-to-back blowout losses to the Knicks and Bulls (giving Chicago their first win since Jan 31), they clearly need Giannis if they want to scrap their way back into the postseason conversation.
