When Washington Commanders tight end tore his ACL in Week 14 against the Minnesota Vikings, there were some rumblings that might be the end of the 35 year old’s career. But the 13-year veteran who is a pending free agent said that he plans to play a 14th season in 2026, and he could be cleared to play by Week 1.
Ertz caught 116 passes for 1,158 yards and 11 touchdowns and 76 first downs in Washington before his injury, with 50 receptions and four TDs coming last year from a combination of an oft-injured Jayden Daniels and Marcus Mariota. If Ertz is able to get himself back to his pre-ACL injury form, there will certainly be a team who could use his services.
