Three post-waiver fantasy football targets for Week 6

A good fantasy team can never have enough pass-catchers. These three all had career games in Week 5 but remain widely available in most leagues. (Fantasy stats via Yahoo Sports).

Many were surprised when the Seahawks released veteran tight end Noah Fant prior to training camp, while others saw it as a sign of confidence for Elijah Arroyo, the team’s second-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

But while Arroyo has underwhelmed with six receptions in his first five games, Barner has 14 catches this season for 134 yards and a team-high four touchdowns, tied for the most among tight ends with Dallas Goedert of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Barner caught all seven targets for 53 yards and two touchdowns against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6, leading the position with 24.3 fantasy points, his third double-digit score of the season.

Currently the 11th-ranked tight end with 51.80 fantasy points, Barner looks to be closing in on better-known players like Sam LaPorta (53.90) and Goedert (52.30) and could crack the top 10 with a strong performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

Barner remains available in 90% of leagues.

Not only did Bourne make up for the absence of wide receivers Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall with 10 catches for a career-high 142 yards in the team’s 26-23 victory over the Los Angeles Rams on Oct. 2, he did so without the services of starting quarterback Brock Purdy.

Purdy missed his second straight game with a toe injury, but Bourne showed excellent chemistry with backup Mac Jones, earning 24.20 fantasy points. Bourne’s yards were his most since 2022, when he put up 100 yards against the Cincinnati Bengals, something he’ll try to do against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

Per 49ers Webzone, Jennings practiced on Thursday but Pearsall did not. Barring a miraculous recovery for the latter, Bourne should operate as the team’s No. 2 receiver, at worst, against Tampa Bay.

Bourne remains available in 77% of leagues.

The rookie tight end caught nine of a team-high 12 targets in the team’s 37-22 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, becoming the only Jets player besides wide receiver Garrett Wilson to see double-digit looks in any game this year.

After seeing only three targets in his first two games, Taylor seems fully recovered from the ankle injury that held him back in the preseason. He’s also shown good chemistry with quarterback Justin Fields, who found the tight end for a two-point conversion in the fourth quarter of last week’s game.

Taylor’s 17.70 fantasy points were eighth-most among tight ends in Week 5, a number he’ll chase against the Denver Broncos, who gave up a touchdown and 10.90 fantasy points to Goedert last Sunday.

Taylor remains available in 68% of leagues.
