Three potential Aaron Rodgers 2025 destinations

Aaron Rodgers’ days with the Jets could be numbered.

On Saturday, NFL insider Dianna Russini reported, “It appears increasingly likely that the four-time MVP, who is banged up, could be placed on injured reserve or possibly benched over the next few weeks.

“Some around the league say they won’t be surprised if Rodgers is cut in-season,” Russini added. (h/t The Athletic)

Russini also noted that her “understanding is that Rodgers still wants to play in 2025, just not for the New York Jets.”

A split would be mutually beneficial, and despite a disappointing 2024 season and having failed to make the playoffs since 2021, Rodgers could still be attractive to QB-needy teams.

Here are three potential destinations for the Super Bowl XLV MVP next season:

    Las Vegas Raiders

Rodgers and wide receiver Davante Adams, who was traded from the Raiders to the Jets earlier this season, could trade places. Maybe Adams could give Rodgers, his eight-year Packers teammate, a deal on his $11.4 million Las Vegas mansion.

The Raiders (2-8) have struggled to replace former quarterback Derek Carr the past two years, and Gardner Minshew, Aidan O’Connell and Desmond Ridder have all received playing time this season.

They’ve combined to go 241-of-362 (66.6 percent) for 2,098 yards (6.4 yards per attempt), 11 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

Rookie tight end Brock Bowers is a budding star. He has 70 receptions, 703 yards and four touchdowns this season. Underrated wide receiver Jakobi Meyers is also signed through 2025.

Per Pro Football Focus data, he’s one of four wide receivers with at least 55 targets who haven’t been credited with a drop. His 71.4 percent contested catch rate is the second-highest among qualifying players, only trailing Commanders wideout Terry McLaurin.

    Cleveland Browns

The Browns are probably stuck with quarterback Deshaun Watson. Spotrac shared his untenable dead cap hits for the next few seasons, which includes a $118.9 million dead cap hit in 2025 if released following the 2024 season.
