Travis Kelce’s Ex, Kayla Nicole Admits She Gets ‘Triggered’ By Comments

Travis Kelce‘s ex-girlfriend Kayla Nicole is speaking up for herself following the huge backlash that has recently trailed her for discussing her romantic past with the football star.

Although she said she “doesn’t fear” being cancelled, the journalist admitted to being “triggered” by the comments, hence the need for her to “address it.”

Meanwhile, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift broke the Internet when they announced their engagement last week with a photo dump that revealed the pop star’s stunning engagement ring.

Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend Kayla Nicole has defended herself against the ravaging backlash she faced after publicly discussing her past relationship with the Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end.

After Kelce and Swift announced their engagement, Nicole shared a cryptic post of her workout session and captioned it, “The goal? A back that says stop f-cking playing with me.”

Many interpreted her comments as a response to Kelce’s headline-grabbing engagement with the pop star and came for her in their numbers.

Speaking on a recent episode of her “The Pre-Game” podcast, she admitted to being “triggered” by the chatter but said she’s not bothered by it.

“For me, I don’t fear necessarily being canceled because I don’t think people hold that power,” she explained to special guest Heather Sanders, per Page Six.

The sports journalist went further to say that she believes God has a plan for her and that haters “can’t change the trajectory” of her life, irrespective of what they think.

“However, I’m sensitive. I am triggered,” Nicole admitted. “I want to clear my name. I want to address it.”

Without mentioning the specific controversy she’s referring to, Nicole said she “never did” address it and “chickened out” in the hopes that it’ll “just blow over.”

However, when she finally decides to speak out, people think she’s doing it for attention instead of seeing it as her just discussing her experiences.

“That’s my fear, too, is when I address things, instead of me talking about lived experience, people think it’s just me constantly trying to rehash bulls-it,” she said. “When in reality, I’m just a human who wants to talk about my life.”

She added, “Sue me, sweetie. Jesus.”

Earlier this year, Nicole teased that she sees Kelce moving on with Swift as a compliment. During a May episode of her podcast, a listener called in seeking advice about getting over an ex while acknowledging that her former partner’s new girl is “hot.”

Nicole replied, “I think as women, something we struggle with is admitting that the new girl might be popping, might be sh-t, might be really hot, and there’s no problem in admitting that.”

She likened it to losing a playoff basketball game to a team that ultimately wins the championship.

“If you’re gonna lose, I want to lose to the best team now,” she quipped. “I want you to move on and go do your big one. Make me look good. Right?”

Nicole explained, “It’s so much worse if the guy that you loved and you dated for so long and you’re so heartbroken over goes and dates a dud.”

“Now you look stupid, he looks stupid, we all look stupid [and] everyone’s questioning your taste,” she continued. “Like, ‘What the f-ck are you doing?'”

Kayla Nicole has been open about her relationship with Travis Kelce, whom she dated between 2017 and 2022.

Last year, she shut down talks that they broke up over his “cheap” tendencies after she admitted on the “Unapologetically Angel” podcast that she would never date someone who splits the bill “50/50.”

She then broke down in tears as Taylor Swift’s fans criticized her for discussing her past with Kelce, especially since it appears to have become more frequent since he began dating the “Bad Blood” hitmaker in the summer of 2023.
