Tyreek Hill gets more bad news about possibly finding a new NFL home

There has been no indication since the Miami Dolphins parted ways with wide receiver Tyreek Hill this past February that any team has come close to signing him.

For an update shared on Friday, NFL insider Jason La Canfora of SportsBoom US suggested Hill’s situation is “unlikely” to change anytime soon as the 32-year-old continues to recover from the serious knee injury he suffered during the 2025 season.

Why Tyreek Hill is a “no-go” for some NFL teams

“If he can’t take the top off a defense anymore, what are you bringing him in for? I think he’s going to have a long wait. He’s a no-go for us,” one unnamed general manager told La Canfora while speaking about Hill.

Specifically, Hill dislocated his left knee
and tore multiple ligaments, including his ACL, on Sept. 29 of last year. As Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio mentioned on Thursday, Hill also remains the subject of an active personal conduct policy review after his estranged wife came forward with allegations of domestic violence against the five-time First-Team All-Pro.

In July 2019, the NFL’s website noted that Hill had been temporarily barred from all Kansas City Chiefs team-related activities as a result of a child abuse investigation. He was not charged with a crime related to that investigation, and the NFL didn’t suspend him after it “could not conclude” whether or not he had violated its personal conduct policy.

However, TMZ Sports revealed on Thursday that Hill’s estranged wife wants to issue subpoenas to seek evidence of past alleged domestic violence incidents. Thus, the juice may no longer be worth the squeeze as it pertains to a team taking a flier on Hill this offseason.

Teams no longer want to deal with baggage related to Tyreek Hill?

“Hill’s falling out with former (Dolphins) head coach Mike McDaniel became public and Hill, from a chemistry standpoint, can leave a lot to be desired as well,” La Canfora added. “He carries the type of baggage that is easily glossed over when he provides rare speed and burst and big-play potential, and that suddenly looms large when those traits no longer dominate.”

It sounds like Hill may remain an unsigned free agent as long as the NFL has an open investigation against him.
