War Room founder Steve Bannon talked with Rep. Eli Crane about Daniel Penny, who is unjustly being tried in a New York courtroom for saving innocent people from a lunatic on a New York train.
Rep. Crane wants to award Penny with the Congressional Medal of Honor.
“Talk to me about Fox News has something of a statement you made yesterday of the Marine Penny in New York who, this trial is a farce,” Bannon said.
“They threw out the manslaughter yesterday. It’s a hung jury there. The jury is basically saying we can’t come to decisions on this thing cause it’s so outrageous,” Bannon commented.
“You want to have Congress actually step in and take some action here?” Bannon asked.
“At the end of the day what we are trying to do is we are introducing a resolution early next week to give Daniel Penny the Congressional Gold Medal and what we want to do is we want to honor this young man for what he did,” Crane said.
“A lot of us you know, aren’t super optimistic about what is going to happen to Daniel Penny, but we want to help change the narrative and we want to honor Daniel Penny for the hero that he is,” Crane said.
“If you look at this situation Steve, you know that Daniel Penny did not wake up that day, get on that train and you know say to himself man I hope I get to stop a drugged up lunatic with a rap sheet a mile long,” Crane continued.
“Unlike a lot of people out there Steve, that just look the other way when this stuff goes down as this country becomes more and more lawless because of how foolish we have been with our criminal justice system, Daniel Penny said I’m not gonna look the other way,” Crane said.
“We want to make sure that he understands the American people stand with him and there’s a lot of elected officials that stand with him and we honor him for stepping up and not being passive and doing the right thing,” Crane continued.
