Warriors may have a huge Steph Curry problem

Once again, the Golden State Warriors fell short of their primary target.

In what looks like a worrisome trend in the Mike Dunleavy Jr. era, the Warriors couldn’t get LeBron James to take his talents to the Bay Area.

To add insult to injury, it looks like the Warriors don’t intend to pursue another big name as an alternative. It was “LeBron or nothing” for Steve Kerr’s team, and that might be the trend going forward.

In an appearance on “The TK Show” podcast on 95.7 The Game, renowned Warriors insider Tim Kawakami revealed that owner Joe Lacob is focused on the post-Steph Curry era.

Warriors could lose Steph Curry over disrespect

“Lacob wants to—and this might get Warriors fans mad—he wants to build the next team after Steph Curry. I don’t know how possible that is. But Lacob has a keen interest in, ‘I am going to show, or this organization is going to show what it can do with Steph Curry and then after Steph Curry,’” Kawakami said.

While that makes sense to a degree, it may also cost them the greatest player in franchise history.

Curry can still lead a championship-caliber team, so he shouldn’t have much of an incentive to stay with an organization that has all but waved the white flag on his timeline.

He’s been with the Warriors for his entire career, but that only makes it worse.

After everything he’s given them, it looks like they don’t think he can deliver another championship at this point in his career.

That has happened way too many times in the past, and more often than not, it leads to trouble. The Warriors are disrespecting Curry, and almost every other team in the league would gladly take him off their hands.
