“It’s weird [because] I didn’t set out to become this relationship advice guy, but I turned into that because of ‘Bachelor In Paradise’ and just sitting down there and giving everyone advice about relationships,” he began.

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, Adams thought it would be “a good opportunity to team up with JCPenney just to put out this green flag guide of mine.”

He went on to say, “I feel like the past couple of years have all been about red flags or even beige flags,” but people should start focusing on the “green flags.”

When it comes to choosing the perfect diamond, Wells Adams is all about ethical sourcing, sustainability, and a price that won’t break the bank.

“I grew up going to JCPenney and shopping there for back to school and stuff, but I didn’t realize they had this amazing jewelry department,” he confessed. “And when I went there, they were showing me all this fantastic jewelry [including] engagement rings, which kind of blew my mind.”

The diamonds in these rings are “lab-grown” and are “ethically and sustainably sourced,” which Wells said is very “important” to him. “But also, what’s important to me was price point. Unbelievably better priced than a regular diamond, so I think that’s a really cool thing.”

“You know, if you’re a guy trying to get your stuff together for Valentine’s Day, you know, I found this amazing, like, you know, European cut suit that looked fantastic, and I didn’t need any tailoring at all,” he adds of JCPenney’s Men’s Department. “And it was very, reasonably priced.”

Wells also found a fantastic MESSI cologne that he absolutely “loves,” further emphasizing that “JCPenney has everything that you could ever need for Valentine’s Day or for any occasion” and “at amazing price points.”

“So it’s been awesome to team up with JCPenney and kind of put together this list,” he added regarding his “green flag” gift guide.

“A green flag would be anything that shows your partner you’re thoughtful, reliable, and planning for the future,” Wells told The Blast. “If you’re showing up on a date and you’re looking good, that’s important [because] it shows that you care about yourself and also shows that you care about your partner because you want to look good for them. That’s kind of a big green flag.”

Wells Adams was drawn to his wife, Sarah Hyland, because of the many “green flags” she displayed that caught his eye.

“I’m really attracted to really, smart, powerful women I think that’s really sexy and I recognized that very quickly [with Sarah],” he said before noting how she is “a veracious reader” and “multi-talented.”
