Friends of Wendy Williams‘ family are seeking contributions from her fans to assist in speeding her return to “her rightful home in Florida.”

The Fundraiser has a target amount of $50,000 and was reportedly set up before Williams’ explosive revelations on Thursday.

The beloved television personality said she felt like a prisoner amid her conservatorship, adding that she wasn’t “cognitively impaired” as reported in the media.

Friends of the Williams Family organized the fundraiser, which seeks to raise $50,000. As of this post, $8,954 has been raised from 377 contributions.

The fundraiser’s description reads, “A GoFundMe fundraiser is being urgently organized to assist Wendy Williams’ family in expediting her return to her rightful home in Florida.”

It continues, “For far too long, Wendy has faced the challenges of being unjustly placed under guardianship and labeled as incapacitated, despite her strong will and determination to live her life independently.”

Williams’ current situation was described as “unfair” and “deeply isolating,” while it was claimed that the guardian assigned to her “severed connections with friends and family, leaving her without the support network she so desperately needs.”

According to the fundraiser, Williams’ isolation in New York “has made it increasingly difficult for her to maintain her strength and resilience.”

The concluding part of the fundraiser description stressed that Williams’ family “is passionately advocating for her return to Florida where she can once again be surrounded by the love and support of those who care about her.”

It claimed that Williams’ family is “suffering emotionally,” witnessing the toll her isolation “is taking on her well-being.”

However, the former television show host’s family “have exhausted their financial resources” in their fight against her “unjust guardianship.”

Hence, they are “in dire need of assistance to secure legal representation.”

The fundraiser’s description concluded, “Legal services can be prohibitively expensive, and without our support, they may struggle to navigate the complexities of the situation.”

Wendy Williams Likens Her Life To ‘A Prison’

On Thursday, The Blast reported that Williams had a phone interview with “The Breakfast Club” and opened up about her conservatorship.

The former daytime talk show host denied her guardian’s claim that she could not reason for herself.

Williams said, “I am not cognitively impaired, you know what I’m saying? But I feel like I’m in prison. I’m in this place where the people are in their 90s and their 80s, and 70s … There’s something wrong with these people here on this floor.”

Williams’ niece, Alex, who joined the call, also shared more details about her living conditions in the New York care facility where she currently resides.

Alex revealed that her aunt stayed in a small, bare room. She claimed that the room had only one window that didn’t allow for adequate sunlight.

Williams described her conservatorship experience as “emotional abuse” and broke down in tears while discussing the possibility of not being present for her dad’s 94th birthday.

She explained that her ability to attend the celebration depended on her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, who she described as “that person that you talk about who is holding me hostage.”

Williams lamented, “I am exhausted thinking about what if I can’t see my dad for his birthday. At 94, the day after that is not promised. My life is like f—ed up.”

She also noted that she had only $15 to her name before further revealing that her deeply treasured cats, which had been with her since she moved to New York City after her divorce, were “sold” without her consent.

During the interview, Williams revealed that she had one-way phone access, meaning she could call her family and friends but couldn’t receive calls from them.

Williams also claimed that her conservator was in total control of her life, down to her movements and finances.

Owing to Williams’ revelations about her living conditions at the New York facility, her niece said it would be dangerous for her to remain under conservatorship.

Alex explained that Williams’ family wants the best for her and is better suited to take care of her as they know her much better than an outsider would.

Hence, she urged the public to raise awareness about her aunt’s situation on social media by sharing “#FreeWendy” to help her come out of conservatorship.
