Wimbledon schedule benefits Taylor Fritz after reaching quarterfinal

American Taylor Fritz scored a straight-sets win to join elite company in making it to a third consecutive Wimbledon quarterfinal, and that was just the beginning of the good news for the No. 6 seed at the All England Club on Monday.

Later, No. 2 seed Alexander Zverev, coming off a French Open title, played No. 13 Jiri Lehecka for a chance to face Fritz, but the final Round of 16 match was suspended due to curfew.

The delay gives Fritz extra rest over his next opponent, a potential key edge as he looks to advance to a second consecutive Wimbledon semifinal. Last year, he lost to Carlos Alcaraz in four sets.

Taylor Fritz awaits QF opponent as Zverev-Lehecka suspended until Tuesday
