The New York Yankees have been unable to get fully healthy at any point this season. Just when they start to get close, another injury happens and prolongs the process.

It happened again on Saturday when left-hander Ryan Weathers left his start in the fourth inning due to an apparent injury. The extent of Weathers injury has now been revealed, and it will test the depth of an injured New York starting rotation.

After undergoing further imaging, the Yankees announced Sunday that Weathers was being placed on the 15-day injured list with a left forearm flexor strain.

According to manager Aaron Boone, Weathers will be shut down from throwing for 2-4 weeks. Boone also said that there’s a “great chance” Weathers returns at some capacity this season.
