Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent joined Martha Raddatz on ABC’s This Week earlier today.
During their interview, Bessent took a swing at the fake news media.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent: When I look at some of the things that are being published, there was a story 10 days ago that said, This is the worst April for the stock market since the Great Depression. Ten days later, the Nasdaq is now up in the month of April, and I haven’t seen a story that says, Oh, stock market has biggest bounce back ever.
Martha Raddatz: It certainly has gone back and forth.
Scott Bessent: I think a lot of this is media-driven.
Of course, Secretary Bessent is correct. The NASDAQ was at 19,278 on March 31, 2025. On Friday the NASDAQ was at 19,432 on April 25, 2025. The NASDAQ is higher than it was at the end of May DESPITE President Trump’s tariffs policy.
That is quite remarkable.
But instead of admitting her grievous mistake, Raddatz brushed it off as the markets going “back and forth.” That is not correct. The market has performed remarkably this month and EVERYONE in the fake news has egg on their face once again. Instead of apologizing Raddatz lies again to the American public.
You really can’t hate this fake news media enough!
